I don't care what my hair type is, as long as it's healthy

What did she say your hair type is? The hair type is not the most important factor, but it definitely helps when seeking advise from others on the hair board. For instance my type hair 4b is very kinky, can be resistant to relaxers and more challenging to manage. I love to read what others with this type of hair do as well as gather helpful information from others with different hair types.

What did she say your hair type is?

I said something to her about my hair being kinky and she said  :naughty:

"No!!! Your hair is wavy and curly, but not kinky" I already have found many products that work well on my hair, so I just go with that...don't worry about the type, ya know?

She said it's wavy/curly, but not kinky. I have so many textures going on...it's hard to tell :ohwell:

Your hair would definitely not be kinky.. I can't wait till you get up the nerve and go natural..:poke: :woot:

I think im a 4a in the crown and a 3c in the nape area....lol i dont know i couldnt even tell during my 1st trial transition....

I'm 3c.. I have fine hair/thin strands.. corkscrews/spirals..

I thought coarse was the way it felt.. like if you have silky hair or coarse hair, etc..

You have a point. Like I said this whole hair typing thing is soooo confusing for me. Can anyone else elaborate? or am I hijacking this thread by asking that?

It looks like an equal mix of 3c and 4a - I think. I'm 15 weeks post-relaxer but trying to space my next re-touch as long as possible to see my true texture.

I am a
TYPE 4A and B.
Absolutely no waves or curls unless I make them.
Kinks in an S pattern with some Z patterns throughout.
Usually use Super strength for relaxers.

@missbobbie....*queing up ole Mike...."You are not aloneeeeeeeee...I am here with youuuuuuu*

I was one of dem kids...whose fro...neverrrr..quiteee...stayed...afro...like...but close...moms would be like forget it...just braid it up...

4a/b I think. Since I'm fairly new to this whole taking care of my own hair thing I still haven't figured it out. I know I have fine texture and I feel small waves when I touch my new growth, but I've never really paid attention until lately. The lady that used to relax my hair made the comment although my hair gets nappy, (for lack of a better word) it was really easy to relax. I think it felt so nappy because it was always extra dry and unkept. I don't know. :perplexed What do you think?

4b
It's a bad thing for me! It's course, thick, hard differently kinky ect . Only when I can get good results is at the beauty shop/ salon.

my hair type is 3c/4a.i had to ask my mom what was my hair type b/c i forgot. She told me curly afro  .This helped alot so i know what type of relaxer to use.

I have 3c in the front, 4a in the middle and 4b in the back and sides. The 4a section of my head grows the fastest. I love the way my springy coils feel! I like the waves of my 3c front also. The 4b in the back feels kinda wirey and grows slowly.

Fine strands of I-don't-know-what. Really. The texture seems to keep changing as I get older. I would guess 4a.
