I'm 3c/4a. Very soft and wavy in the front and middle, coarser in the back (kitchen area). My hair is also medium thickness, so it's not fine and not too thick either.

It kind of sounds like 3c? I'm confused by the whole hair typing thing. But I did want to say that you said your hair was coarse with a fine texture. If I understand texture correctly coarseness has to do with the thickness of the hair strand.

For years I thought I had coarse hair until I touched someone else's hair that was coarse. Talk about shocked! Each one of her strands had to be at least three times the size of mine. That's when I discovered that my texture is fine to medium. I have to admit that was also a major breakthrough in my hair care regimen.

My hair is 4a/3c/2b? Fine to medium texture, slightly resistant and medium to thick volume.

I thought coarse was the way it felt.. like if you have silky hair or coarse hair, etc..
