Hello Ladies,

I just wanted to know your favorite scripture or book in the Bible that you love and why?

My favorite book in the Bible is Proverbs. I refer a lot to this book when I'm faced with life's many challenges. :)

That's interesting...my fave scripture is Proverbs 31:29, I love the whole chapter about A Capable Wife, but that one line makes me want to be an awesome wife and mother one day.

My favorite is indicated in my signature... Proverbs 3:5-6

Those are my fav. scriptures too :)
I like it because it assures me that my Heavenly Father is my provider and here to guide me through this crazy place we call earth :D

My favorite book is the book of Ruth. That is such a wonderful story on how if you are obedient and follow God He will give you the desires of your heart.

My favorite scripture is Matt 6:23-33 with the focus on vs 33 "Seek first the Kingdom of God and all other things will be given unto you. The whole parable is wonderful however. Jesus reminds us not to worry about everyday things. If God will provide for the birds and even the grass he will provide for us. Hallajuh. The Lord is Great and worthy to be Praised

Great scripture!! I alway think of that scripture when I get weary about finding a good man and getting married. :)

My favorite book is the entire book of Psalms, my favorite scripture is Isaiah(sp) 41:10 "Fear thou not for I am with thee, be not dismayed for I am thy God, I will sterngthen thee, I will help thee, yea i will uphold thee with the righteousnes of My right hand." Just typing this scripture maeks me feel a sense of peace. Its been a long time since I've thought of these words. Thanks for the post to bring it back to the front of my mind.

Being that I have a BIG problem with being patient, and offering my suggestions to the Lord - these are a few that I repeat to myself on occasion :)

Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Isaiah 55:9

As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts

Psalm 91. I used to have nightmares and reciting this and praying before bed would let me get a good nights sleep.

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

"For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord, "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Luke 10:19 has always stuck with me. It says to me that we have been given the authority to go against our enemies and come out unscathed.

Favorite Book: Proverbs
Favorite Scripture: Proverbs 31:10

I have to read this book over and over because sometimes it is hard to keep the principles in mind when I'm faced with situations that anger me.

Phillipian 4:13: "For all things I have the strength by virtue of He who imparts power to me"

My ultimate favorite book is the Book of Ruth. I also favor Esther. Ruth and Esther exemplifies God's favor, grace, and sovereignty. Song of Solomon is a nice one too.

Psalm 37 all the way

BLESSED1 you aint neva lied :) . I have that verse 1 sitting on top of my monitor here at work.
But my favorite verse would be 1 Peter 1:6-9 because it talks of my hope as a believer. My favorite book is Genesis, particularly the story of Joseph.

When it comes down to it there are a lot that I enjoy but I'll say I Corinthians 13:1-13
I like it because it says without charity you have nothing. For me it means that even if you do something good for someone and it wasn't for the right reason then you really haven't done anything good at all.

Hey Pooh, why do you like that scripture so much? Let us know. ;)
I've been so many struggles and decision-making situations in my life where I felt like I couldn't trust anyone. Proverbs 3:5-6 let's me know I can put my trust solely on God for only He knows what's best for me. And He's a better judge than we human beings are! So this verse commands me to trust God completely in every choice I make and to never be wise in my own eyes. This allows me to have the willingness to listen and be corrected by God's Word and wise Christian people. It also encourages me to always bring my decisions to God in prayer, use the Bible as my ultimate guide for life, and follow God's leading.

Sorry for being so late on answering that for ya'! ;)

These are my favorites :) I refer alot to the book of James.

James 2
8If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, "Love your neighbor as yourself,"[a] you are doing right. 9But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. 10For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.

This is a daily reminder for me that I am to love everyone saved or not saved.

James 3
4Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. 5Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

7All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, 8but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

9With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. 10Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be.

This is one of my favorites because it reminds me always that it's important for me to control the words that come out of my mouth because my words could destroy or build so I need to think before I speak.

AND :)

James 2
22Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.

Also one I hang on because it reminds me that actions speak louder than words. Rather than complaining, do something about it. If I speak the Word I better be doing it rather than talking about it :)
