Whats the worst that can happen if I self relax and dont do it properly, I mean as far as the actual application of the relaxer, like if I miss a few spots or rinse it out too early, things like that :perplexed

Well your newgrowth will not be bone striaght (If thats what you are going for)! The curls would be loose and then you will have loose curls/texlax hair on top and straight at the bottom:ohwell: You will then have two textures to deal with (thats extra care). Thats all If you wash it out too early:spinning:

When your in the process of smoothing you can tell if it needs a few more minutes. It also helps to section the hair. Practice with conditoner a few times.

i self relaxed for the first time yesterday. i didn't practice with conditioner so i sucked at it. one side of my hair is relaxed well while the other side is slightly underprocessed cause i put less relaxer on that side. i have no burns at all though. so i did a good job.

what's the worse that could happen? baldness if you leave the relaxer on too long and don't neutralize.

You will be underprocessed if you do not get it right. Then you will have to baby the hair for a bit until you get a corrective or wait till the next relaxer.
