I was applying hair remover to my legs this afternoon and my mind began to conjure up crazy thoughts: What would I do if for whatever reason I put this veet on my hair? I imagined a shiny bald spot and quickly came to myself, banishing those thoughts to the pit of hell from whence they came!:lachen:

Besides mistaking Nair for conditioner, what are the worst possible things that could happen to a Cousin?
 
I am natural.....so mine would be........mistaking a relaxer for conditioner. :spinning: :blush: :drunk: :look: :perplexed
 
the unintentional relaxer would be the worst for me....for most people i think it would be any set back or unintentional loss or cutting of hair.
 
I remember one thread that was started a while ago about this video vixen who was sitting in bubble bath next to some candles, and her hair caught fire. I think it was artificial hair but still... thankfully she had the sense to dip her head in the water.

Have someone really like my WL hair then chop it off while I wait for the subway in an effort to steal for someone's weave. :nono:

i remember that! and i think she said it was all hers...either way thats scary.
 
someone posted in the off topic about a crazy roommate who added Nair to someone's shampoo. :nono:
 
A jealous someone adding bleach to your conditioner.
 
Realizing you don't have any shampoo or conditioner on wash day.... the horror. :lol:

Going to the salon with MBL hair for a trim and leaving the salon with SL hair after the "trim". :nono:
 
I have been having all types of crazy thoughts in regards to these wayyyy to long braids I put in my hair

Yesterday I was going out to a card game and I tucked my hair in my shirt when I was getting out the car cause I didn't want my hair swinging while in that neighborhood for fear they would be yanked out and I would have bald spots all ova a 5 second thought btw

This morning I woke up to my three year old telling me he peed already my head spun and I immediately graded the ends of this hair and started smelling them i got it in my head that he was telling me he peed in my bed and all over my hair and started freaking out mind you he came in my room when he woke
and I told him to go to the bathroom so his response was I peed already.

Eta: I plan on cutting these things this week

That was at some party for Diddy. Kevin Hart was talking while her hair was going up in flames.
 
It happened to me last year. After going natural and growing out my hair to armpit length my hair fell out due to anaemia and weight loss and I had a big old bald spot in my head. I had to cut it off and the worst thing was the fact that u could see my frigging scalp where I was bald. I hate wigs. I just had to rock that crazy patchy cut. I wad so happy when I could finally scrape it into a pony again a few months ago!
 
cutting your hair to "start fresh" and then finding out that the problem could've been easily fixed :blush:
 
when i was relaxed I many times had dreams about my hair getting caught in machinery or an elevator door and getting ripped clean from the scalp.

and I have already got gum stuck in my hair, but even worse wud be a huge glob of glue... like nickelodean sliming size glob of glue.
 
I've got another one: running out of water on relaxer day... after applying the relaxer!

Once I was in the shower washing my hair and the water suddenly stopped (I shared this in an old thread). Apparently there was some maintenance work going on in the neighborhood that required the workers to shut off the water supply for some hours. We got no notice!:nono: Someone pointed out that it could have been a nightmare if that day was relaxer day rather than wash day. I agree!
 
At the salon sitting in the chair of a scissor happy/jealous stylist.

You stole mine LOL. I always have this fear and I always think of a backup plan just in case. :yep: I have a girlfriend who lives about 4 blocks away and I always imagine running to her house to use her water. The closest thing where something like this is most likely to happen would be to run the washing machine when it's time to rinse the relaxer. But worse case scenario I could just go shut the washer off.
 
Growing my (thin) relaxed hair to BSL but not being able to grow my thick natural hair past SL.
 
I always hear about little kids cutting off their hair or other little kids hair when they have scissors. I watch my nephew like a hawk when he has them around me and not just for his safety. I could almost disown the little guy if I got to WL and he wanted to play barber. :lachen:
 
I just had this dream a few nights ago: I was preparing for an interview on camera with some really important ppl and decided to put a bit of moisturizer and oil on my hair to make it shine. During the interview I happened to reach up to run my fingers thru my hair and a whole section came out in my hand. Turns out it was relaxer, not moisturizer. But I didn't have burning cuz of the oil slowing it down.

I woke up and started ripping my scarf off like my hair was still melting outof my scalp :)

I would go with the no water on relaxer day. I'd have to do the Malcolm X thing and run to the toilet.

I feel like I have lived some of my hair nightmares. .

Finally getting the courage to go to the salon again & having the person basically burn my hair out with relaxer. My hair was very healthy and thick after a year and a half of braids. I paid someone good money to tell me how unmanageable my hair was & how it needed to marinade with a corrective relaxer. Pants on the ground? No, hair on the pillow. My hair looked like somebody went through with a razor. . . breakage so crazy that I had to go to what was my next nightmare at the time . . . my first weave.

My first weave was a nightmare. I was depressed because my beautiful head of thick hair was in shreds to the point that I had no styling options. I didn't know that the weavologist had issues with by SO at the time. She weaved me so tight that I took surgical strength painkillers for a couple days to deal with the pain & she put so much hair in my head that Chaka Khan and Diana Ross would have been like what the heezy.

Looking back on it now, I laugh, but at the time the whole episode had me really depressed. Lessons definitely learned.

Wow. You've had some pretty painful hair experiences. I hate when a stylist throws out idiot diagnoses that make no sense. I have never ever met a stylist who would get a client for the first time and say, "your hair is in great shape." They ALWAYS find something wrong with the hair. As if they need something to be wrong with your hair in order to validate their (dis)service.
 
when I was relaxed, I too used to worry out the water running out. Especia
lly after we got a letter saying that they are doing some work and it may happen. But one time my mum threw away the letter so I was worried about applying the relaxer. I did fill up some water bottles and stuff just in case, but would have never of been enough. Luckily I don't have to worry about that anymore.

Another worry I have is some yob spitting in my hair and me walking around not knowing it. I know it may seem odd to think that but there are people in London that would do that.
 
I'm afraid of someone putting gum in your hair while you're out on the street.
 
Definitely not as deep as some of these others horrors posted in this thread but.....

To answer the ? as to the worst possible thing that could happen is running INTO a Niko's cousin when you and your husband are estimating/bidding on a dirty job for a customer (4 hours away from home) at the very same hotel that a natural hair show is being held and out of curiosity, peep into that hair show and run into a board member.

Talk about traumatic. Folks normally think they'll run into someone when they're on point well let me tell ya, the coincidence gods may have a surprise waiting for you too.........:lachen:
