Between hard and soft water, myself and my sister have been wondering the same thing. How do they affect your hair?
Could anyone in the UK tell me if we have hard or soft water.

Hard water is full of mineral salts and is very alkaline. Alkalines I believe lift the cuticle of your hair strands and therefore can cause your hair to tangle more and look dull. They can be very drying too. If you lived in an area with very alkaline water, you'd notice limescale deposits in your sink or bath. Also hard water is difficult to lather in.

I think there's hard water in the UK, but in varying quantities, depending on where you are:
