What's My Hair Type?

So I cut the relaxed ends off a few strands of my hair at the nape of my neck because I got bored and wanted to see what it'd look like.
At first it was kinda just a soft and fluffy bunch of hair that didn't really have curl definition but I put a teeny bit of IC gel on the strands and came out with this! I stretched them in the last two pics... looks like the shrinkage fairy paid me a visit! But I'm perfectly okay with it!
They're cute little ringlets that I am in love with, but I have no idea what type this is... it's like straw curls or something...
So anyway, what type do you think I am???

That would be somewhere in the 3s 3c maybe but trust me do not assume that because your hair is like that in the back that it will be like that all the way around lol I made the same mistake and ended up with like 4 textures of hair on my head and that nape texture is the least in the majority. It's common that the nape area has the loosest texture for some reason who knows.

That makes sense... I know I have different textures but based upon the strand I snipped in the front, it seems as though the perimeter of my hair is all like how it is at my nape, but the crown and for some reason, the part in the middle of my head is a COMPLETELY different story... lol. I am thinking that is a 4a section.
Thanks for your input.

Me too! The sides curl up and what not a lil bit tighter than the nape but the rest is like :spinning: when do you plan on big chopping?

Lol at the face.
I still have 9 more months to go!!!!
I'm getting so anxious... and I am so scissor happy! Like I just told you, I have been doing little strand chops here and there... Ima mess up and cut all mine off tomorrow!

I'm a long term transitioner too! Yaay! Your hair is sooo pretty...mine never looks that when I put it in a pony...what did u use/how did you style it?

Good hair. Just kidding!!!! You still have a lot of straight strands left. Maybe you should update us when you have quite a bit of new growth. I think it would be too early to tell right now.

I am actually 8 months post and the pictures are of the strands that I cut the straight ends off. Those strands are completely natural. It's a little over 3.5 inches stretched. Maybe I should ask again when I have 6 inches? What do you suggest?

I'd say 4a, but i'm not expert! In some cases the nape area is tighter. I know mine is. How is your transition coming along? 8 months, that's a long time!

I love your ponytail its cute and i can see the curls sorry im not good with hair typing but i'd guess a 3c/4a
Thanks! It's actually a puff, not a ponytail. I have layers and fine hair so my ponytails look ALL kinds of crazy! Lol.... But thanks... it seems that I am getting 3c the most... I should have made a poll!
I'm going to make a tutorial tomorrow probably.

It's going well actually... not as bad as I thought! I still have 9 more months to go! I think I can make it... (I hope!)

Hey, there! I'm 8 months post, too!

Anywho, I'd call your hair 4A, and very pretty indeed.

Hey there fellow 8-monther! Thank you for the compliment! I will be at 8.5 in exactly a week, which is the halfway mark of my transition! When are you planning to chop?

I don't see a 4 type anywhere. I'd put you at a 3b/c.

It's so funny that the responses are going from 3b - 4a... The curls aren't coarse really at all, so I was thinking 3c, but I do have coarse, kinkier hair at my crown so I know that's got to be in the 4 range. So weird... I think there should be a 3d!

I think you're in the 3 range but I'll only know when you BC.

Noted! I will definitely be asking again once I BC but that won't be for a while! I'm not really all that pressed about typing since I'm just gonna do what works for me but I thought it'd be sort of fun to find out so I could rep! Hehe!
