Ladies, I want to press my hair (I just relocated to Tampa/St.Petersburg and no one warned me about this humidity!!). I'm thinking that if I press my hair then roll it, the straighteness/sleekness will last longer than the two minutes it currently does (I literally walked outside to my car, drove to work - less than 10 minute drive- got out the car, ran in the building, and had a huge frizz mess before my 9:00 AM).

So anyway, I haven't decided if I want to use my Morrocan Oil, my Aveda Anti-Humectant, or should I buy some coconut oil and call it a day.

What ideas, if any, do you ladies have?

That's what I'm thinking but I hate the idea of having to find a whole foods store or something reliable other than the bootleg walmart i found (I just moved here last Monday and I only know how to get home and to work). But do you think pressing my hair then rolling it will help my battle against the humidity?

walmart has coconut oil. You also may want to try other styles that you don't have to fight to keep, Take you poof to the next level with some textured updos and hair toys

I don't know. Sorry. Hopefully someone will be able to chime in.

All I know is I used to live in south florida, and when I go back to visit and wear my hair straight, I would keep it wrapped and in a scarf whenever i was outdoors or in the car. As soon as I was safely in the airconditioned place, i'd let my hair out. Otherwise I'd be a hot frizzy puffy ugly mess.

Girl, I wouldn't even bother. Last year, I was down that way and further. It took me months to get my hair together, and that wasn't until I put some old fashioned grease on my relaxed hair to flatiron it.

IMO, the coconut oil will be great after all the heavy-duty straightening is done. Good luck!

coconut oil works pretty well for me. I live Houston, it gets VERY humid here. are you relaxed or natural? im relaxed so there might be a difference.
