What type of hair holders are you guys using to gather your hair?

For ponytails/buns/updos,ect?
I ask because traditional circular holders smush my hair and makes it seem like it disappears.
Like I can do any style once my hair is gathered in thr grip of my hand for prep for a ponytail,but as soon as I wrap that holder around it,my length and volume are gone.erplexed

What gives?
What type of holders do you find best to work with? I just need my bun to act and look right!

I use Scrunchies, Goody black hair ties, and headbands that became too stretchy to use on my head (but that stretches perfectly to tie up my hair).

What are spin pins? I used to used these pins that were plastic and shaped like crab legs.I can't find them anymore though. *sigh*

rounded banana clips from ulta
hair net from sally's (this way I dont put pressure on my ends)

What I do: put hair in banana clip and twirl it around loosely until it looks the way I want. Place hair net over top and tuck the end. results attached

first pic hair was stretched with curlformers
second pic hair is done wet then used scarf to lay edges down. I also twisted the loose ponytail just enough to avoid SSKs until it dried then untwisted and fluffed.

The top band from knee-highs. Cut them right off and those are my ponytail holders.
As for the rest of the knee-high, I tie a knot in both ends, and use these as "adjustable" headbands; or I tie them around my ponytails on occasion.
