Its Multichoice.....I couldnt really fit everything in the poll or a "other" option, so please elaborate or explain how/what kind you use and what exactly you do with it...I know that there are wooden brushes and probally a whole lot more types of bristles, and that people may only use the brush 1x a month or every other week etc.

I have a boar bristle paddle brush that I use when I wrap my hair after a roller set. I only use it when I roller set which is a few times after a relaxer touch up. After about 4 weeks post, I am back to protective styles whether it is braids, wigs or weaves until my next touch up. And then the cycle begins again.

I have a denman brush (D3, I think it is) I use every other week as the final step in my hair combing/detangling process.

I use a boar bristle brush every other day on dry hair. On other days when my hair is wet, I use it to get these edges semi-flat

I have a Denman D3 I think (one for thick afro hair) I don't brush my hair. I go through a detangled section once before I wash to remove shed hair. I bought it a few weeks ago and I think I am only going to use this when I have new growth, where shed hair can be more of a problem in tangles. It made a big difference when I used it when I was 9 weeks post.

I now use a boar bristle brush on the front of my hair once a week, Other than that I detangle with Denman- now that someone on the board showed me how to use it for detangling. :lachen:

I voted boar, but I also have a copper bristle brush that I love. I use the boar soft bristle brush on my edges only and the copper bristle brush on my scalp (I rarely pull the bush all the way through the length) to message and stimulate.

I have a 100% natural boar bristle brush I use to smooth down my hair after air drying. It's not hard, and doesn't snag or pull out my hair

I used a Denman brush - the D3 - for the first time 2 days ago. I used it to detangle and smooth my hair before I did twists for a twistout. I plan to use it once a week to detangle after washing.

I wear my hair up everyday, so I use a very soft boar bristle brush daily to help lay my edges down. I never brush hard or pull my hair tight because my edges are a mess as they are.

I have 3 types of brushes that I use:
wooden- for scritchin/massaging scalp/spreading oils from root to tip
plastic paddle- for wrapping at night
boar-for finishing and smoothing

I would love to add a Denman to this list one day! Is this really the cadillac of all brushes?:spinning:

I own a Denman type (plastic, straight), Boar (or really soft), and a Ball tipped brush. I use my boar brush Daily to Smooth hair or lay down edges.....

Have a Denman knock off and a ball tip. Use one daily depending on which one's closer on the counter.

I use my denman (the one with the wide spaced teeth) to detangle about once a week, the boar brush to smooth almost daily, and a paddle brush for maintenance when my hair is straightened.
