Hey gals. I've got a question for you's. I wash my hair at the dominican salon each week and I just want to know what do you guys do with your hair during the week, for example what if your hair sweats out.

Also, I want to know how do you comb your hair and how often do you comb your hair? What type of comb do you guys use, what products do you guys use and do you use brushes.

Preferable I prefer the reponse from those with a relaxer and, those who wrap their hair and/or dont wrap their hair at night time.

hmmmm, Everything i do is not set in stone but i guess i can tell u what I more than likely should do. Well first off, i think it's good that you get your hair professionally rollerset weekly, reason being is when i get my hair pro rollerset I have very very little breakage and I rarely comb or use heat. So when i do get a pro RS, during the week, i do not wrap my hair at nite, i just comb it straight back, spray a little vo5 light conditioner, either a dab of oil or a dab of mango butter, then i tie my scarf on, tuck my ends under. This prevents breakage in the back that i used to get when i'd unwrap my hair. In the morning, I'll lightly spray and use a dab of NTM serum and I'll roll my hair with my steam rollers...and in 15mins I'll have either a new-looking professional wrap, or new looking pro rollerset. very simple routine. If i were to sweat my hair out...i'd wear it in a ponytail until I can get it washed again. Or if i wash it myself doing a deep cond and then put it in a ponytail until i can get it pro rollerset. or i'd domedry and flat-iron myself.

and no i do not brush my hair. I may brush it when my hair is professionally rollerset and really smoothe, otherwise i'm causing too much breakage.

As far as combs, i fingercomb in the morning and I use a K-cuttter comb at nite.

hope these suggestions help....

I don't roller set professionally weekly. I figure if I can get someone to do it for me at home, then I shouldn't have to pay to do it. When I do it, it's for something special. If it was a blowout while I had NG, and I sweated during the week, I'd wash it again and let it airdry or whatever. If I did'nt have crazy NG, I would put rollers in my hair to try to keep the ends bumped.

now that i'm on LHCF, I only use a detangling comb for whatever I do. I'm really trying not to use a hairbrush b/c after i used it the last two times, it seemed like the front of my hair had quite a few short strands... so yeah, none of that. I plan on getting a baby brush though, for times when I really want to brush. For now, I think the satin scarf takes care of smoothing down my hair.
As for wrapping, i'm not good at it. I really don't do it often, and I don't like how one side lays flat and the one side looks flipped. I also like my hair to hang back and not be curled towards my face like it does when I wrap my hair.

When I get a doobie/wash and set if I just wear it straight I will either wrap it or put it in one roller (magnetic large) at night. If I let them blow my roots only so I have some curl in my hair I will use the soft white rollers at night to keep the curl. If I wrap it I wrap it using my fingers to manipulate the hair around my head never a brush or I may use a wide tooth comb very gently.

I comb my hair with a wide tooth comb that looks like the bone combs but isn't. I really don't use brushes on my hair. I find I don't have to, but sometimes if I am airdrying in a bun at home I will use a baby brush very gently to get it smooth the top (not the edges).

In the shower I use Jilbere shower comb to detangle, it's the best.

My favorite products right now are:

Aubrey's GPB light protein conditioner. I use this as a pre-shampoo for 15 min on dry hair then rise out and put NTM mask or DDC on while I shower. I do this once a week.

NTM leave in is great and I use it as a daily moisturizer
Elasta QP Mango butter for my ends
Nioxin Scalp Therapy for Conditioner Washes in the Gym
Surge 14
WGO or Hot Six on damp hair
Emergencee for breakage
Moisture: Just bought Mizani Moisturfuze and I got Kenra samples I plan to try.

I don't do anything to my hair between washes. I just make six or seven twists and wear a twisted bun all week. I find the less I do to my hair the better. I always moisturize my hair daily and keep my ends moist. I use to wear braids a whole lot but I am going to take a break this summer and wear twistout buns and leave my hair alone and see how long my hair can get this summer.

Does anyone do conditioner washes in between visits to the Dominican Salon? If so, how often?

Also, does anyone stretch their relaxers and do C/O washes? How do you detangle?
