I know this has been asked before and I searched for it but could not find the thread it was in. Sorry. What is the difference between castor oil and Jamaican Black castor oil? Which is better? I have tried JBCO and I love it but I have to order it online. Can is substitute it for castor oil? Would it make a difference. TIA:)

What little I do know is,

Jamaican Black Castor oil is less processed. Castor oil comes from pressing, burning and refining the castor oil plant seeds. The more refined it becomes the clearer it appears. Castor oil is know as a lubricant, used in hair tonics for centuries by East Indian and West Indians. It is not as commonly used now because people have more “refined ways of oiling their hair”. It has water resistant properties that make it ideal for coating your hair ends. This is why you should always use your water based products prior to sealing with castor oil. Using another brand should still result in good results. There is a company in Canada and New York who produce a compatible organic brand “www.bedesse.com"
