This is a timely thread and I'd like to hear what others, especially those who are single, have to say. Thanks for starting it.
For a while, I stopped participating in the "nightlife". I stopped going to clubs and lounges. I just stuck to movies and restaurants. The problem became that the latter (movies and restaurants) adds up money-wise over time. Additionally, majority of my current social circle prefers to do the former - clubs and lounges. I thought I could get back into the "nightlife" but the "innocent" part of it. Yea, right. It has actually impacted my walk as of late. It started with going to a lounge for live music and then resulted in a "door" being opened to me stumbling.
A family member has suggested that I meet friends through church. Ideally, this would provide an avenue to "wholesome" social activities. However, I'm having church issues right now.
Meanwhile, I do remember some "wholesome" activities from the past. I remember back when I was part of a Christian fellowship in college, we did the following: potlucks, weekend bible studies, good old chatting indoor for hours, praise & worship, Christian nightclub, retreats, restaurants, and movies.
