I read that you all retain your length by putting it in a protective style.Well since my hair broke off, it wont get in a bun anymore. So what kind of protective style can I do with something like this??:ohwell:

What about roller setting?

Well you can do pin ups after you rollerset. You can also wear braids, half-wigs, and other styles with fake hair.

I think when the hair is short you should probably focus the most on protecting your ends by making sure you DC and keep them strengthened and moisturized.

I don't know if it really qualifies as a protective style, but my friend just cut her hair to this length (maybe a bit shorter). She rocks braid outs and twist outs with different headbands and cute things to pull a section of the bang back kind of like my siggy pic. She sets the ends with flexi rods or she'll pin curl the twist or the braid. It gives her a really cute look.....for protection you could do a pin up after taking out braids/twists.

ITA w/ msa! The fact that your hair is short is a protective style in and of itself (your ends aren't brushing up/ snagging on anything, etc.) My hair is shorter than yours and my main focus is making sure my ends are fighting fit. I don't plan on doing any serious protective styling until I get to SL

My hair is about your lenght bc I'm growing out a short do. The best style I've found is rollersets. I roll most my hair over w/ exception to the top. It comes out in a cute flip style. I've also tried braidouts like in my avatar.Like msa sayed focus on moisture and conditioning and you'll be able to make a bun in no time!

Ive never worn weave before. do you think I can get braids using my hair only?

My hair was shorter than yours (if not the same length). I used my little ponytail and did a phony pony for about 6 months...once i got some thickness and a little length, i used half wigs AND phony ponytails... I just made sure my natural hair was moisturized and my ends were carefully tucked away.

Love your hair

Roller setting isn't a protective style. Protective means that your ends are tucked away from the elements. Roller setting is supposed to be low manipulation. You can wear a phony bun or phony pony though.
