I lurve my ecostyler gel!:grin: However, I noticed some pixie knots when I slacked off on my moisture...Oil is excellent under the ecostyler to prevent crunch...however, I tried to use "Kids Organics" for moisture and it didn't mesh well...

What moisturizers do you ladies use (not conditioner and oil) under yours that doesn't cause the ecostyler to "turn? Thank you!

OH well that eliminates me. i usually used condish and oil or a leave in and oil. I really haven't found a good moisturizer yet.

I love both the Ecostyler and Prostyler gels, but I have to be careful what leave-in I apply to my hair because then I get hair boogers LOL or worse, I look like I have dandruff all over my hair, eww!

A great leave-in is Suave conditioner, DevaCare One condition, and Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose. I also notice that once I put on the gel I can't "disturb" my hair by combing/brushing or those dreaded hair boogers appear.

Lol at not conditioner and oil. Why not oil?

I love Taliah Waajid Bodifier under my ecostyler but haven't bought it in awhile because of the price (I'm cheap). Lately I have been putting coconut oil on damp hair, then a little conditioner, then some olive oil. I have been trying to make the conditioner work because it works for others. But I still get some whiteness!

So I just bought some glycerin and I am going to make a leave in to use under my ecostyler.

Some other things that have worked for other ladies or I think would likely work are curl activator gel and s curl spray.

What's funny?:ohwell: I asked about other options aside from oil and conditioner, because I already use Jojoba (and love it)so I'm fine with an oil. However... conditioner hasn't blended as well as I'd like. :nono:

So only a conditioner is my best bet as a moisturizer?? Thanks for your suggestions, ladies. I may try that Chellero! Boston Maria, the "boogers" :lachen::lachen: are what I am trying to avoid but I do really need moisture. pixie/fairy knots are not wanted. :(

I actually like to use curl activator gel (doesn't mattter the brand- I have Longaid and Smoothe and shine) under my ecostyler and my hair stays soft and moisturized with great hold and no hardness. Plus I get no hair boogers either!

I just tried out sta-sof-fro Rub On Hair and scalp conditioner when I did my twist out last nite. good stuff. It's a cream consistancy. And I used the Ecostyler Olive Oil gel.

i use Eco as well. I was using the brown gel now i use the Olive Oil formula.
I put my moisturizer on FIRST then follow with the gel (prevents those product overload aka white balls from rolling up on top of my head).

I use real Shea Butter and now Garnier Fruitus leave-in conditioner (in the stubby short green bottle).

Here's how I avoid the "boogers"

on wet (squeezed) hair I apply a healthy dose of Suave Tropical Coconut

Follow that up with my coconut/olive oil mix

Then apply the gel

I do this all over my head (4-6 sections) then smooth and scrunch my hair to make sure the product has been worked through ALL THE WAY.

Then ( i have a detachable shower head) I turn on the shower coldcoldcold and do a quick rinse. It gets rid of the excess product so no more boogers.

Then I shake to form the curls and get rid of some of the water, before I plop with an oversized T-shirt.

I use Trader Joe Nourish spa under my Ecostyler. I've never had the problem with it "turning" or getting boogery lol
