What Length Am I? (Pic Inside)

My hair is layered, and this is the layer right above my ear. I couldn't get a back shot because I don't know how to do it yet... But my back layers are obviously longer.
But anyway, here's my hair stretched. I will be 8 months post-relaxer tomorrow. What length is this? I don't think it's APL yet but I'm not sure. I don't think I have too far to go though! What do you think?

Really? Based on the hair chart, it doesn't look like it to me...

I'm also not that experienced, so I can't say (which is why I asked) but it looks longer than SL to me since my finger is where the end of my hair is and that is definitely below my shoulder and collarbone... I thought it was

honestly, i think it's always easier to get an accurate view on straightened hair. that pulling down thing never works for me, personally.

I agree. When hair is straight it tends to fall higher then when hair is stretched (IMO) which is why I say SL (full SL).

And, of course I would be on a no-heat kick right now, since I'm transitioning. I am thinking I will straighten at the one-year mark on August 22 to see for sure and I will ask again!

I don't know how to do those yet... I will definitely try to figure it out by the time I post again.

I actually don't pull my hair that tight... I'm tender-headed... lol, so I never pull my hair too tight... so I am thinking this is pretty accurate but I'm not sure. I never knew about the difference in stretching and straightening though so that's very interesting. I may straighten in August so I will ask again.

Maybe if you flat iron your hair you will have a more accurate reading if you are truly APL.

It's longer than mine...lol. No, but i agree that it's between cl-apl closer to the latter. But what do i know.?. And i can see where BrittanyNic is coming from too...( the natural hair falls in a different place when pulled/straightened) i had to find this out all over again during and after my transtion. All in all your doing good it seems.

Wouldn't straightened hair fall lower (longer) than stretched hair for naturals and transitioners because it actually straigtens the entire strand whereas you can't really stretch it straight enough (especially the curls closest to the scalp) to see the true length?

That's what I was thinking too, but again, I'm not that experienced and I have only used heat once in my transition and didn't compare stretched to straightened hair so I have no way of knowing. I'm assuming these ladies already know from experience. Plus, it looks like Rocky91 is natural so I am assuming she knows because of that. I am going to straighten in August to really determine where I am. Even though that's 4 months away... I still want to know. By then, I am hoping I will be APL so there won't be a doubt!

I thought Rocky91 meant that her hair is longer when straightened. That's what I got from it because that's how my hair is. It was always longer after I got a relaxer than when I would pull it during a stretch. I was quoting Brittany.

Oh... you're right. Since Brittany quoted Rocky91, I got confused because I was thinking both of them were saying the same thing. I don't know that Rocky91 really clarified if she meant her hair was shorter or longer when stretched versus straightened.
Honestly, I don't know because I have never compared stretched to straightened but when I do straighten in August, I will definitely make a note of it and update the thread if I remember.

Thank you! Thank goodness - I thought I was crazy when I got those SL responses! I will definitely update as soon as I straighten. I hope I am without a doubt APL by then (August 22).
