Yeah, my rollers are like a journal of my hair growth. The smaller ones just take so long to dry that I don't use them. But I keep them just in case I need to do a curly upsweep or something. Mostly I use the gray and maroon ones.
Thanx Tek...Ill check it out!!! I use Nexxus headress mixed w/ oil, which I love for my braidouts and air-dries for the way it moisturizes...but my hair looses the sleek look...
Well tekmommie I didn't think I was a PJ until I looked in my bathroom cabinet! Now I'm starting to put stuff in the guest bathroom cabinet because I'm running out of room. I realize I'm about as bad as the rest of you! lol!
the first ones i use for my body butter mix. the second ones i use with the olive oil and honey for my preshampoo treatments. sometimes i'll throw one of the others in just to feel like i didn't waste my money on my investment...
tekmommie, here is the recipe that i used the last time for the body butter:
2/3 cup mango butter
1/3 cup shea butter
1/4 cup jojoba oil
1/4 cup sweet almond oil
1/4 cup beeswax
melt them all together. let cool slightly then pour into container. it has a creamy consistency once hard. i let it harden in the fridge. if you do it in the freezer, it sometimes comes out grainy.
i used to put fragrance in it, but now i just let the mango butter smell be the fragrance so it doesn't overpower my perfume. i use it on my body and my son's. i also use it on my hair when i wear it wavy. it doesn't weigh it down at all.
i get all of my oils and butters at CedarVale Natural Health. their prices are very reasonable, and the quality of their products is great. the beeswax comes in the form of small pellets.
<font color="brown">I am a PJ for beauty products in general. Hair, face, bath, body -you name it! However, I am only a binge-and-purge PJ. I go through waves of PJism where I literally binge purchase products that I have been wanting to try. Then I end up having to purge out some of my old products (ones that I ended up disliking), in order to feel better about all of the new ones that I just bought. Once the wave passes, I can go for months without a desire for new purchases.
The really bad thing is that my habits are rubbing off on my 13 year old daughter! If I buy a new shampoo or conditioner, she definitely wants to try it. Additionally, she is becoming quite the product diva herself. She knows how to read labels, and she looks things up on the web before she asks for it. She is currently an aromatherapy-a-holic and I can't keep her from spending her allowance in places like Bath and Body Works. I mean, how much bubble bath and lotion can one person have??!!!
yeah, i forgot. so i edited right after i posted. like i said, it's the consistency of small pellets. they melt to the touch like the other stuff. all of the stuff is the CedarVale brand.
LOL @ ANgieK's daughter....but when she gets older, you guys can split the price of products. Collective Product Junkie Syndrome.
I used to be mainly a conditioner and oils junkie. However, since I recently had success diluting L'Anza Protein Plus with water this week, I feel myself slowly turining to a shampoo junkie. Never in my life did I think I'd see THAT day.....
BTW---what is a maintenance junkie?
Oh and I like accessories--hair or any other kind.
A maintanance junkie would be someone who has to have...you know maintanance stuff. Hair sprays, gels, oils, hair grease what ever you use to maintain.
I guess that I have to admit that I'm a major PJ. I've basically tried everything that Sally's sells and most things from the local beauty supply stores. So many products I like the first or second time I use them and then the next time I use them they just don't work the same. I'm still searching for that perfect hair care product that I'll use for the long term.

Are you a shampoo, conditioner, maintanence, vitamin, hair clip or ALL OF THE ABOVE???
I think I'm a vitamin PJ, I'm still looking for the right mix.

I was going to say a REFORMED product junkie but then I've just started seeing the wonder of scarves and how good puffs and twist outs can look with em... so I may be on my way to becoming an "accessory junkie"!
