I haven't found my staple products.(I thought it was Motions but now not to sure)

I don't really know if i really need a reconstructor when I'm using a conditioner that has protein in it. What's the difference between a reconstructor and a deep conditioning treatment?

I still don't know why I get split ends:nono:

I don't know fi my hair like water based moisturizers or oil based moisturizers better.

I still need to learn HOW to detangle this head full of natrual hair without ripping (I can the tears) out the knots of shedded hair. :perplexed

I'm getting great growth, but lost a bit every times I touch my ends! :wallbash:

I still haven't figured out if I should do my corrective myself or go to a professional and have it done:ohwell:

-Rollersets

-Staple products (though I'm very close)

-How to keep a curl/bend longer than one day :wallbash:

-Pincurls

-How often my hair needs to be moisturized (I think I am going to stop trying to put my hair on a moisture 'schedule' and just moisturize as needed.....)

elasticity!!! cant figure how to get it back once its gone... or at least, if i get it back, it goes away after a little while. its like a seasaw. i guess i'm going to have to just trans out of relaxed hair for that one.

also, i haven't found a general regimin or staple products..... i'm all over the place most of the time. one week, this regimin.... two weeks later, no regimin... another week goes by, a different regimin.....

and last, but not least.... retention

I need to get on a regimen and figure out what my hair likes and doesn't like. That's the hard part for me. :drunk:

I still cannot for the life of me figure out how come my hair fell out in clumps during the fall of 2005 and Spring of 2006. What baffles me the most, is, I can't for the life of me figure out how my hair went from a soft 3c to a coarse 4a/b. How the heck did my hair texture change soooo drastically when my hair stopped falling out
Even a few of my family members and close friend have taken notice. My brother looked at me the other day and asked me 'wtf is up with your hair'.

I don't see the correlation between hair loss and hair texture. If someone knows a scientific reasoning for this, please enlighten me. As soon as my hair stopped falling out, my hair texture completely changed.

Were you sick or on any meds Britt?

Nope, I was stressed out though.
But the way my hair was falling out, was alarming. I remember the hairdressers gasping and trying to console it. I'd literally feel it dropping down my back when i was in the shower washing it. Thank God I didn't have any bald spots. But I did a big chop and started over :yep:. After that, the hair that grows in is a TOTAL different texture. This is the first time in my life that I have to relax every 7 weeks. All along i've easily gone 12-16+ weeks, so I feel there is some type of correlation to my hair falling out and the texture changing. Even as I look at my old fotki pics, my new growth like the opposite now, sooo weird. My hair use to be much more easier for me to deal with, i took it for granted .

I agree it sounds like a side effect of a medication or illness...

One of my pediatric patients is dominican and she has this little afro....well her mom has to cut it off every few months and start it again...its like 3b 3c maybe...but it turns into 4b eventually....but the new hair that comes in is curly/silky.....looks like a totally different head of hair. When it turns to 4b its just dry/dull/frizzy no matter what u put on it.

I wasn't on any meds. I mean, my hair texture as of right now is still more like a 4a/b. Basically, as soon as my hair stopped falling out (Aug.06), the hair that grows in is a different texture than to what I had most of my life. The products I use to use b4 don't give me the same affect, obviously b/c the texture has changed . I did extensive blood tests earlier this year and nothing alarming came back. It's just so strange to me. My hair is very healthy, but I still can't figure out the drastic texture change *shrugs*.

Hmmm...well my moms texture changed dramatically when she went thru menopause but u dont look anywhere near old enough for that lol. So is u hair only like that in certain spots?

Sounds like whatever was going on on the inside to make your hair fall out, changed something in your hair's structure causing it to grow back a different texture. I've seen this happen to people on meds, chemo, steroids, etc., but the texture change is usually in the opposite direction, 4a turning 3c.

Well, let me tell you a story that might make some sense of it all. My oldest aunt got breast cancer, and by the time her incompetent doctor caught it (he kept telling her, "that's not a cancerous lump, it's a clump of fatty molecules" bastard.) she had to get the masectomy. Anywhoo, she was undergoing a round of chemotherapy, just to see if that would slow down the cancer spreading, which it was trying to do, and all her hair fell out; all her waist length, shiny, raven black hair fell out. We all cried. Anywhoo, after her masectomy, it grew back, but this time it was a thick, dusky brown/gray/black color and very, very coarse. She had so much trouble taking care of it, that she now keeps it a short natural. When she asked her doctor what happened, he said this: her body had produced a lot of very foreign cells and chemicals when the cancer was spreading, and when she was trying to fight it. That, mixed with the chemo, made a lot of changes in her body, which is why her hair grew back so crazy.

You say that you didn't have any sickness or anything, but sometimes our bodies are fighting off illness' and infections that we don't even know about, so when your hair starting falling out, I have to imagine that your body was undergoing some change and then when the hair grew back in, it gew in different; that's the logical explanation; but life isn't always logical.

Oh yea, and the things I haven't figured out yet are:

1. Self-relaxing
2. Moisturizing my crown
3. should I trim again, or should I let it grow out?
4. Protective styles for my short hair.
5. Moisturizing my crown? Pssh, moisturizing my whole damn head!

Rollersetting, low/no manipulation, no combing/brushing, no poo

Thanks :yep:, that def does make sense.

I can't seem to figure out whether or not I should continue my transition or if I should texlax. I hate having to think...it makes my head hurt:spinning:

I still can't figure out how to make the hair in the middle back of my head grow as fast as the rest of my hair or keep it from breaking (don't know if it doesn't grow as fast or if it is breaking).

OOOh, this is so me, that same exact section! I don't think it's breaking though. I don't know what the deal is, UGH:perplexed

still working on getting my hair to APL. its hovering around but just not getting there.

also the 4b hair around my hairline is not only dry no matter how many times i moisturize it is also short. granted it is probably a few mm of hair it stays the same length. my mom has the same problem. not sure why that piece isn't thriving

lastly i am debating if i should texturize my hair to loosen the curl a bit

I STILL have crunchy hair. No Matter WHAT I use.

I DC,m protein er'now n' den. My hair just WILL not hold moisture and then it's frizzy.

*gets phone book for them damn Dominicans*

1.)How to maintain a cute hairstyle after working out!!!!!(If someone knows the secret fill me in)
2.)How to stretch relaxers without breakage. (I still TU every 6-7 weeks!)
3.)Still working on perfect rollerset (gotta get macherie's DVD)
