I've eyed that MC leave-in, but can't get over the price. Also, it's not a leave-in, but my favorite SM product is the purification mask.

My favorite leave-ins are:

SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Conditioner - similar to Oyin Handmade Honey Hemp Conditioner minus the glycerin

SheaMoisture Kids Mango & Carrot Extra-Nourishing Condtioner- has excellent slip

SheaMoisture Kids Coconut & Hibiscus
Curling Butter Cream- it's a “wet" butter with slip

SheaMoisture Raw SheaButter Extra Moisture Detangler- has the A Lot of slip; similar to Kinky-Curly Knot Today but with oils & butters

Shea Moisture =
Purification Hair Masque. I have the Manuka Honey DC'er and the JBCO DC'er but haven't tried either yet.

Mixed CHicks:
I like their straightening serum best. The leave in is good however unless one is a 3a, one would need to use another light leave in underneath MC for moisture. MC leave in does play well with other products.

Shea Moisture
All of their products seem the same to me. Some of them are on the heavy side but I have thin hair so I do not like my products too heavy.

I never tried Mixed Chicks. My favorite Shea Moisture products is the Yucca and Plantain Anti-Breakage Strengthening Styling Milk. I would say it's the best "natural" hair moisturizer I've ever used.

I've never tried the mixed chicks. But my faves from shea moisture:

Curl and shine conditioner (great as a leave in)
Raw Shea butter conditioner (also great as a leave-in)
Yucca and Baobab Deep Conditioner (I think they changed the formula on this)
JBCO Leave-in (good as a super light leave-in)

I have some great recs to consider. Thanks for the mixed chicks feedback. I remember the firestorm when this line first came out and everyone was reacting to the name.

I LOVE Mixed Chicks leave in...I lobe the entire line actually...especially the deep conditioner.

The leave in works like a gel or mousse for me so I use a leave in under it (like sm curl and style milk or beautiful curls leave in from whole foods), I split my hair into 2 or 3 sections and rake quarter sized amounts through each section , set my part how I want it and let it air-dry. Mixed chicks gives me 2nd day hair.

I will post pics later...the app keeps crashing (apparently it posted the pics....gahhh!...anyway...this is my hair on Mixed Chicks)

But I love their stuff! It's one of my favorite lines of products!!

I prefer the purabody because it's glycerin free and appears to add more sheen. It also provides more slip. I use the curling gel on stretched hair on top of a leave in for twist outs.
