What Is Your Dream Wedding?

With all this talk about holy dating/courting, purity in the marital relationship and preparing oneself, I'd like to ask what your dream wedding would be. How do you envision it? Where would you like to get married, in which venue, which church, a certain pastor, theme etc.? Any certain portions of the ceremony you wish to devise like a certain poem etc.? This could be a fun thread dreaming about your desire to marry.

I'll start with mine:

1.betrothal ceremony and pre-marital counseling
2.sacrament of marriage. I like these commandments given to bride and groom in the crowning ceremony in particular:

WOW God is up too something. =)

I will have a very small and intimate wedding. Very old school. Tropical Theme

However I am not getting married on the beach.

The best wedding I ever saw was the late Princess Diana when I was a little girl. WOW she was truly a Princess. All I remember telling myself when I marry I will be wearing a beautiful Princess tiara.

I want a small intimate wedding. No more than 30 guests. In November preferably. I would like to be married under an arch on a path in a vineyard or wooded area. I want fallen leaves around the path. My wedding will begin at 'dusk'

I would love for my grandfather to give me away but realistically... he's getting older :(. If he can't give me away, I want my pastor or my brother to give me away. I only want 2 bridesmaids and 2 groomsmen.

I love the back of this gown and the way it Graces the floor....

and NO, I'd never wear this for a Church Wedding.

That gown is beautiful!! Very much like the type of dress I would like to wear. I've imagined my wedding so many times, I even know what type of cake I want-red velvet!, but also a vanilla cupcakes if people don't like it. I made a pretend guest list, I have around 90 :perplexed, my family rolls deep and takes things personally. I could go on and on....I'm wrong like that....early summer, at a church, big party afterwards, small bridal party, not the trad. "Here Comes the Bride" music, maybe Nina Simone.

with this kind of a ceremony

I want to get married in my Pastor's office, with just the Groom and I, and a witness if necessary.

Now for my reception...if I have all the money in the world, I want a Pride & Prejudice themed reception with a 8 course meal, professional dancers, and costumes for all the guests.

If I don't have all the money then, no reception. Maybe just a small reception/housewarming/backyard bbq get together with a moroccan theme.

How small? I was doing math in my head when I realized that 30 guests actually equals 15 guests + date. :lachen: Which is fine with me b/c my family is small (the ones I'm close to). So if his family is large... well they might have to meet us at the reception because I really do want a private ceremony. :o

See IRL my family thinks that I am overly anxious but on here im normal!! :lachen::lachen:

I want a medium sized wedding with a BIG reception. I want my reception to be a big party!!

Here is some options of how I want my dress to look!!

The gray dress in the first pic.
And/or the top portion of the black one!

Thank you. I love gowns; so much so, that I'd probably wear 5 different ones at the same wedding. I'd have to walk down the aisle 5 different times.

I have a large family too and we live in different states. I guess I'll symocast the wedding so they can all watch it live on TV....

Nina Simone has a beautiful voice. She's an excellent selection for your wedding entrance.

Happy Wedding Blesssings to you. :Rose:

The style of the silver gray is very sofisticated. :yep:

Enough said....

I want White, Gold-Bronze (like gucci color gold), and accents of Silver and rich red. Very luxurious.

And there has to be a beautiful, green, hilly landscape around the venue.

I dont want it in a church. I know I know but I just dont. A big mansion or country club.
PrettyFace...... do you know that I cannot stay away from this website (Andre Wells) that you posted above? Oh..... MY ..... Goodness! :thud:

I had the music playing at my desk all afternoon. I had to keep it minimized so that I could get my work done. It's beautiful!

Also, Mansions are actually the way to go with a wedding. You have the advantage of having the entire ceremony and festivities all in one place. And you have the advantage of the Mansion's staff taking care of everthing... EVERYTHING! They replenish the food, beverages, plates, napkins, etc., throughout the entire event. I love it!

You get a full staff and in addition, you have your own Bridal Suite, where you can leave your belongings, freshen up before, after and during the festivities.

You can still have them decorate/arrange your ceremony with a 'Chapel' setting. We bless every place we walk upon anyway. The Holy Spirit lives within us and where we go, He's right there with us...His full presence.

God is still in the Mansions! :yep: And Andre Wells...

GV, this is entire ceremony is absolutely beautiful. I can literaly feel your heart in this. I love the 'Commandments'. Very tender, if that makes any sense.

Thank you for creating this Beautiful and Joyful thread. I'll be sharing more wedding 'Realities'; for our Dreams are indeed a 'Reality' coming into full bloom.

I have the church and the pastor picked out. I have the most wonderful memories of worship there, and the pastor I want to officiate treats me like his daughter...the dress will be done as soon as I can make the pattern. :giggle: Late summer on the Philadelphia Main Line, outdoor reception.

In general, I have to have a liturgical, sacramental wedding, with communion. The words at the exchanging of the rings are: "With this ring I thee wed, with my body I thee worship, and with all my worldly goods I thee endow."

I know a lot of people complain about costs, but I don't want anyone I know who wants to celebrate that day with me to not be able to do so because of the cost of their plate. I really want everyone there! Family, friends, teachers, cousins, old roommates, all you ladies... I love celebrations.

I always wanted to get married on an island with the sun setting in the background. I would like to carry a cally lilly and rose bouquet. I don't want to wear a white dress, but a shimmery white. I would expect whomever can afford to come great, other than that.......

Well, like I said for the ceremony just me, him, and the pastor. I really do think it's something that should be private. I don't know why I feel that way, I just do.

As far as the reception at the house, well it depends on how big our house is but probably just our closest friends and some family members. No more than 50 people total, and just adults.

I actually would like to have a huge celebration to renew our vows, which would be done in front of people. I just don't think there's much to celebrate the day people get married because that's the easy part. Staying married is the hard part. Now, at ten years renewing our vows would be a huge extravaganza:yep:. Actually that's probably when I'd do the Pride and Prejudice thing or some other theme like that.

Thank you, Shimmie. I truly love this liturgy and also the pre-marital counseling program. For me, it's the man. I want a nice dress and celebration and all that (I'm rather shy about those things) but as long as I've got one who's got it together along those lines? I'm floating on butta! LOLOL. That liturgy and crowning ceremony are as beautiful as the dress!!
