Reason i am asking is i have some palm oil that i purchased from www.thechemistrystore.com and i love it- easily absorbed and made my hair soft and moisturized instantly. I wanna know what the difference is between this and the other oil or oils in the same family.

Thanks.

Plam oil comes from the palm fruit and palm nut/kernal oil comes the kernal or nut inside the fruit.

Plam oil is often used for cooking, mainly by African, South American (Brazillian), and (I think?) Haitian cultures. Many ladies use this oil in their hair as a moisturizer/conditioner with great results.

Palm nut/kernal oil is often used in soap/candle making. Apparently, many Haitians, Africans, and South Americans have historically used this oil as a hair conditioner/moisturizer. The oil has been highly popularized on this board from the Haitian Hair Secrets type threads.

Both oils come in both a natural and refined states. The more natural forms are the most prized.

I myself have been trying to get my hands on the kernal oil for the longest so Thanks for the link :)

I bought the L'huile Mascreti, Palma Cristi, but it sure don't smell like tomato juice...(tongue in cheek)...I mean castor oil when in the States, which some say may actually be castor oil, but just to make sure I have an African friend that is ordering me some direct from Africa. Also, I have the real Jamaican black castor oil...So I am trying to have all my bases covered. Then I can really compare what I have, right? bonjour.
