I have no clue....I see some of you guys say 4a or b or something like that, how do you determine the type and are there different ways to care for different types.....My hair seems to be like 3 or 4 different textures...the front of my hair when wet kinda waves up, no where near a curl pattern that I would like and I don't str8n it that much so I don't know if thats how it naturally grows or can I do something to make it curl up like other areas of my head...the back of my hair gets curlier, the longer it gets the looser the curls get, but the middle, the dryest part is the snatch back area I guess....it just frizzes up.....

All of these were taken back in March sometime....the first two are basically a wash and wear.....i just pin up one side and go....

This is picked out the afro "fluff" is what I call it....its just big and fluffy but I think I get kind of addicted to combing it in this state and I think thats not really good...i have a habit of just running the comb thru it over and over again.....and I read its not good to comb when its dry like that ...so maybe I been tearin it up.....

And my hair str8ns out really good....better than when I used to get perms....I don't str8n it that much to try to keep heat off of it....but it looks way healthier str8 with natural hair vs permed hair

This summer I was in miami and doin some shootin usin heat and wearin lots of half wigs...and I noticed the front of my hair started breaking..Im going to take some recent pics but it seems to me as if maybe its starting to get worse...I do know I wasn't moisturizing nowhere near as well as i could have been and probably did more protein treatments than moisturizing so now im gonna try the glycerin and aloe moisturizing and see what that does

but again...what type hair do I have...thanx in advance

You sure do love the camera! Rightfully so, you're very pretty. I'd say you're around 3c or something. I say that because my sister is around that type and your hair looks like hers. It's natural to have different textures. I have 3c, 4a and 4b. Mostly 4a so I just claim 4a/b. It's really not precise because everyone's hair is different.

thnx....is there a thread or sticky that describes the different hair types...:)

and I went to your fotki album and saw that iwater showerhead....do you think it made a big difference in your hard water because I live in AZ, hard water heaven....and i was thinking of replacing my filter with this one....

Are you relaxed or natural? I can't tell.

ETA: Nevermind I see that you're natural. I can't really tell from these pictures. Do you have any pictures of your hair unmanipulated? You can tell true texture from hair that has been washed and then airdried uninterrupted with no products.

the first two pics are wash and go...I havent really used n e thing in my hair after washing (i use a olive oil,egg coconut oil, aloe mix for washing so when i rinsedout it looks like it doesnt need n e thing in it) and the comb out is really dry....I don't have n e thing in it.....the press i think i may have used some sort of oil in it.....

or are you saying just wet my hair with nothing in it (no wash or condition) and let it dry to get a more true picture of it...??

i love your kodak gallery honeycomb

my hair in the front still wont curl up...its just kinda fluffy :(

Im gonna try that jojoba gel too, thnx

Yeah I think Glam was saying a pic with it wet right out of the shower or airdry with nothing. From the pics I would say a 3c/4a as well. Isn't it crazy how some hair straightens better natural then with chemicals. Now if you can find something to help with humidity...you would be 100.
