Yesterday I lost yet another family member, & to top it all of I'm pretty sure my mother's house burned down in FL due to the wildfires yesterday as well. (She had to evacuate yesterday) She spent all her money to live in a mortgage free home and someone set fires in FL last week ruining it all.

Those people above? 3 of them lived with me. One of them wasn't even 65. All of them are close close close to me.

So...whats God's reason for this?

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I know what it's like to have people close to you, and are young, to die. However, death is inevitable as long as we are in the flesh.

When God created man, His intentions were for man to live forever. Because of sin that man allowed to enter in, death is a result of it.

We are all appointed to die physically. That's why its important for us to have a Born Again spirit. Jesus made a way for us to be born again by dying on the cross for you, me, your family members, etc. so that we can be with Him for eternity, just as He wanted from the foundations of the earth.

I will be praying for you. I too know what its like to have many family members die all in a row. It's not easy...it hurts alot.

May the Spirit of the Lord and His Peace be upon you right now, to comfort you and keep you warm. In Jesus precious and Holy name!

I have lost a few relatives since 06' as well. Nobody was over 75 years old either. I have one grandparent left. I know how you feel. XOXOXOs and prayer!

I will be praying for you. I won't even begin to try and give explanations. Continue to be prayerful and ask God for peace and understanding. If you can, listen to "Simply Put" by Fred Hammond. I find it comforting in difficult situations. (((((HUGS)))))

My heart goes out to you and your family. I will be praying for you all. Continue to trust and Seek God through all of this "Mess" and he will show you what and why things have to happen!

I'm so sorry to hear about your losses. I pray that you find comfort and peace in the midst of these hard circumstances. *Hugs*

I too have no explanation for your loss, only God knows. But in your suffering know that God will never leave you. In our weakness he is strong. I'm praying for you darling. :yep:

Here's something that might help (your understanding):

The Bible describes God as holy (Isaiah 6:3), righteous (Psalm 7:11), just (Deuteronomy 32:4), and sovereign (Daniel 4:17-25). These attributes tell us the following about God: (1) God is capable of preventing evil, and (2) God desires to rid the universe of evil. So, if both of these are true, why does God allow evil? If God has the power to prevent evil, and desires to prevent evil, why does He not prevent evil? Perhaps a good way to look at this issue would be to consider some alternative situations for how people might have God run the world:

1) God could change everyone’s personality so that they cannot sin. This would also mean that we would not have a free will. We would not be able to choose right or wrong because we would be “programmed” to only do right. Had God chosen to do this, there would be no meaningful relationships between Him and His creation.

Instead, God made Adam and Eve innocent but with the ability to choose good or evil. In doing so, they could respond to His love and trust Him or choose to do their own thing. They chose to do their own thing. Because we live in a real world where we can choose our actions but not their consequences, their sin affected those who came after them (us). Similarly, our decisions to sin have an impact on us, and those around us.

2) Another choice would have God compensating for people’s evil actions through supernatural intervention 100% of the time. For instance, if a drunk driver causes an automobile accident, God would have to keep him and the people in the other automobile from getting harmed, for there would be many people who could possibly be caused to suffer from the accident or the death / injury of those involved in the accident. God would have to keep the drunk driver from crashing into power lines, buildings, etc. because these things would cause innocent people to suffer.

Another instance might involve a lazy person plumbing a house, and he doesn’t bother to check the plumbing for leaks before the house is finished. God would have to make the plumbing not leak because otherwise the home buyers would have to suffer for the lazy person’s sin.

If a father gets addicted to drugs and spends all of his money on drugs, God would somehow have to miraculously provide both the food and the social needs of the children so that they would not have to be adversely affected by the evil of the parent.

In such a world, God would be like a bad parent who enables a wayward child’s destructive behavior. There would be no consequences for one’s actions, and as a result no one would learn integrity, purity, honor, responsibility, or self-control. There would be no “good consequences” for right behavior, no “bad consequences” for wrong behavior. What would people become except more deviant and sinful?

3) Another choice would be for God to judge and remove those who choose to commit evil acts. The problem with this possibility is that there would be no one left, for God would have to remove us all. We all sin and commit evil acts (Romans 3:23; Ecclesiastes 7:20; 1 John 1:8). While some people are more evil than others, where would God draw the line? Ultimately, all evil causes harm to others.

Instead of these or other options, God has chosen to create a “real” world in which real choices have real consequences. In this real world of ours, our actions affect others. Because of Adam’s choice to sin, the world now lives under the curse, and we are all born with a sin nature (Romans 5:12). There will one day come a time when God will judge the sin in this world and make all things new, but He is purposely “delaying” in order to allow more time for people to repent so that He will not need to judge them (2 Peter 3:9). Until then He IS concerned about evil. When He created the Old Testament Laws, He established laws that discourage and punish evil. He judged nations and kings who disregard justice and pursue evil. Likewise in the New Testament, God states that it is the government’s responsibility to provide justice in order to protect the innocent from evil (Romans 13). He also promises severe consequences for those who commit evil acts, especially on the "innocent" (Mark 9:36-42).

In summary, we live in a real world where our good and evil actions have direct consequences and indirect consequences upon us and those around us. God’s desire is that for all of our sakes we would obey Him that it might be well with us (Deuteronomy 5:29). Instead, what happens is that we choose our own way and then we blame God for not doing anything about it. Such is the heart of sinful man. But Jesus came to change men’s hearts through the power of the Holy Spirit. So He is able to do for those who will turn from evil and call on Jesus to save them from their sin and its consequences (2 Corinthians 5:17). God does prevent and restrain some acts of evil. This world would be MUCH WORSE were not God restraining evil. At the same time, God has given us the ability to choose good and evil, and when we choose evil, He allows us, and those around us, to suffer the consequences of evil. Rather than blaming God and questioning God for why He does not prevent all evil - we should be about the business of proclaiming the cure for evil and its consequences - Jesus Christ!

Why do bad things happen to good people? That is one of the difficult questions in all of theology. God is eternal, infinite, omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, etc. Why should we human beings (not eternal, infinite, omniscient, omnipresent, or omnipotent) expect to be able to fully understand God’s ways? The book of Job deals with this issue. God had allowed Satan to do everything he wanted to Job except kill him. What was Job’s reaction? “Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him” (Job 13:15). “The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised” (Job 1:21). Job didn’t understand why God had allowed the things He did, but he knew that God was good and therefore continued to trust in Him. Ultimately, that should be our reaction as well. God is good, just, loving, and merciful. Often things happen to us that we simply cannot understand. However, instead of doubting God's goodness, our reaction should be to trust Him. "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Perhaps a better question is, "Why do good things happen to bad people?" God is holy (Isaiah 6:3; Revelation 4:8). Human beings are sinful (Romans 3:23; 6:23). Do you want to know how God views humanity? “As it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one. Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit. The poison of vipers is on their lips. Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know. There is no fear of God before their eyes” (Romans 3:10-18). Every human being on this planet deserves to be thrown into hell at this very moment. Every second we spend alive is only by the grace of God. Even the most terrible misery we could experience on this planet is merciful compared to what we deserve, eternal hell in the lake of fire.

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). Despite the evil, wicked, sinful nature of the people of this world, God still loved us. He loved us enough to die to take the penalty for our sins (Romans 6:23). All we have to do is believe in Jesus Christ (John 3:16; Romans 10:9) in order to be forgiven and promised a home in heaven (Romans 8:1). What we deserve = hell. What we are given = eternal life in heaven if we would just believe. It has been said, this world is the only hell believers will ever experience, and this world is the only heaven unbelievers will ever experience. The next time we ask the question, “Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people?”, maybe we should be asking, “Why does God allow good things to happen to bad people?”

Though it is tempting, we cannot blame God for these things.

satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy but Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly.

I am sorry for all you have gone through. This life just seems so tough at times. Bless you.

Dearest One, I am so sorry for all of the saddness and unanswered questions which have occured in your life.

The one answer that I can give you is that God still loves you, beyond words and beyond the tragedies which you have experienced. And you have been set apart to give Him glory in spite of all of it.

Babygirl, life is what it is...'Life'. There is 'sin' in the earth and too often the innocent ones suffer. Yet God is still on the throne and He always will be. And He will ALWAYS love you, no matter what.

GraCeful, while I can't explain why, there are going to be many things that we will not have the answers to until we meet with God face-to-face. We are not meant to have all of the answers. But we are required to make a choice and that is will we still choose God or choose the enemy which is satan who is the real intigater in tragic events.

Be loved GraCeful....allow yourself to be loved by the All Mighty God who rules Heaven and Earth and do not allow satan to steal your joy or your faith. For truly this is what satan is out to do; he is out to steal your joy and to make you not wish to trust or believe in God. God who will never forsake you, nor leave no matter what has happened to others.

Love and blessings to you... :giveheart:

I have no idea, the bible says "His thoughts are much higher than ours". "Who can know the mind of Jesus Christ?"

I am praying that God would comfort you, bless you, smile upon you, Guide you, and allow His goodness to pass your way even today Lord. As well as for the other family members. AMEN.
