What is a Dominican Blowout? (for naturals and relaxed)

Sorry for the dumb question, I feel especially embarassed since my own family is Latin American and very into their hair. My hair is natural right now (not going over well in the family at all)and from time to time I get it pressed or flat ironed.
However, a friend of mine who is also natural said she was going to have the Dominican's blow out her hair. I was confused because when I was relaxed I'd go to the Dominican salon for a doobie wrap, so I thought the term "blow out" was just a different way of saying doobie wrap. Now after reading a few posts it looks like Blow out is blowing out the roots in between touch ups (is this correct?) Finally, do naturals get this process done and if so how is different/better/worse than getting hair pressed. Thanks

You are right.... It is just blowing the hair out with a dryer ...
It helps when you want to take a break from relaxing or if you are natural and want a relaxed style. The Dominicans just have a great prices and can make the hair swing! /images/graemlins/clap.gif
