Keeping my ends tucked away (protective styling). This is mostly to keep my hands out of my hair than anything else.
Also moisturizing my ends like crazy morning and night, with Profectiv healthy ends, Garnier leave in and/or miss key 10 n 1 conditioner!!! Havent needed a trim in over five months.
My sewn in gave me my length now that I took it out, I am trying to keep it... I do moisturize and seal daily, I think that I am going to start bunning...I dont like ponytails tho.
I'll say keeping those shedding hairs from tangling and knotting up at the ends of your hair. You'll lose at of length with those things if you don't care for it properly.
I've been trying to really focus on retaining length. What I've been doing-
At night I can't keep a scarf on so I make 3/4 buns/bantu knots, seal the ends, then wrap the knot/bun in pieces of cut up grocery bag. I've been doing this consistently for about the last two months and have seen an absolute improvement.
I've also been careful to make sure I move where I wear my bun, use only soft no metal elastics.
A few days later, I oil the last four to six inches of my hair about two or three times a week; then add a pomade(s) such as Constant Care for Ends, TCB Naturals, Softee Indian Hemp, Wondergro Shea Butter, Africa's Best Super Gro, Hairobics Hair and Scalp Booster, Vaseline with an oil blend, etc.
Then I wear my hair in protective styles 99 percent of the time, because I'm lazy with my hair--low manipulation. I sleep with a satin bonnet or satin wrap each night, and I also wear this bonnet/wrap underneath all of my hats.
