I'm fastforwarding....

Actors: My sister, my mom and myself.

Part I

I went to a hair salon to straighten my hair (after 2 years of no salon visits) and the pressing comb looked so hot that I had to tell the stylist to stop pressing. I was sad because before I realized how hot the comb was, she had completed half of the back of my hair. I got up from the chair, bunched my hair in a ponytail and walked out of the salon.

Part II

I stepped out of a hair salon with my hair blowdried and curled, it reached almost to my waist. Next thing I know, [dream logic] I'm standing in front of a table with tons of hair products displayed. My sister was selling her hair products.

I start to cry and my sister and mother ask why was I crying? I answer that I didn't know why. My mom states "Is it because you thought you couldn't do it" [meaning reaching my hair length goal]

I shake my head 'yes.'

I wonder if in real life, I doubt that I could reach my hair goal????

Does anyone have doubts? sssssssssecretly.....:look:

Yes, I doubt I would ever reach APL or MBL. Unfortunately, I've learned to be satisfied with the length my hair is now and the condition of it.

All the time! i've had nighmares about relaxing (i had 3 in one week!)- thats why i transitioned. and although i have LHCF now, i've been trying to grow my hair for 15 years and have tried what i considered EVERYTHING, so its still hard for me to believe that this time will be different. :ohwell:

You know what? I don't doubt I can do it because I've done it before. What I worry about is crazy hairdressers. So much so that I am now natural because I don't trust someone overprocessing my hair. My hair went from waist length to mid back to short as it could be just from relaxing. Probably overprocessing. They'd always ask what I did to get breakage. But then I noticed that they were tugging away at my hair with a comb as hair went flying through the air. Sometimes they'd leave it on too long, and I'd have to pretend it was so hot, just to get them to wash it out. Or I even had a hair dresser use super without my permission and I didn't find out until I looked at the container, and she had left it in extra long until I started yelling at her...and I'm 3c/4a that's not even necessary. I really don't think super is ever necessary but that's just my opinion. So now, I take it all into my own hands. Sometimes I wish I could just find someone to trust. As it would take time off of my hands of styling my hair...but I just can't. My hair is back past brastrap and I'm reaching for midback, and I'm not going to stop. Who Knows maybe I'll even decide to go for waist length. I think it's possible, but I am PARANOID:look: of others doing my hair. So much so that I hyperventilate even thinking about finding someone to do it.

You may have douts.

My new stylist made it clear to me she did not relax hair, and it all started two months after I started my transition(relaxer time). I am chanllenged when it comes to doing my hair, so when I dreamed about self relaxing; I knew subconsciously I had issues about going natural. It put a fire under me to find out all the information I could and I found this site; best thing I could have done. A few months after that my stylist asked me if I wanted to relax. I was so excited about the ng and journey; relaxing was the furthest thing from my mind. :yep:
