What does "Seeking the Lord" mean to you?

I'm asking but that is what I want/need to do but i don't really know what that means besides prayer and going to church.

So when you "seek the Lord", what do you do?

For me it means having a closer relationship with Him, being more like Him, doing good deeds, and humbling myself. He is our Father, we should go to him in every circumstance, whether good or bad. Never cease in your prayer. You don't have to kneel and/or bow your head every time. It could be a quick thanks for His glory and honor at any time, and at any place. All in all, make your relationship with the Lord like you would your best friend or sister. Ask him for guidance in any situation, and read His word. There are scriptures for any thing you are going through, and if there is something you don't understand, seek clarification from some one like your pastor.

Majority doing what he wants me to do.

I find that out by praying and reading.

I do it with a joy in my heart and make sure to share my joy in Christ with others.

The Holy Spirit does the rest really.

For me seeking the Lord is studying the bible and learning and understanding all ways to please God. I think that when you start to do this you really start to know God and to understand the word better and better. I think its putting aside my personal feelings and seeking what God thinks about this or that and changing my mind about it -according to the word thats pleasing God. When I started doing this I started to Love God whereas before I found it hard to do.

I agree and think it can be summed up by SOS.

Submission, Obedience, Sacrafice.

Submitting to God and His spirit and actually having the desire of your heart to do His will. Getting humble and realizing who He is and who you are.

Obedience - different from a submissive heart but usually go hand-in-hand and means to act out what God has instructed you in His words.

Sacrafice - Taking time to worship, pray, praise, fast, fill yourself on The Word or WPsquaredFsquared. I couldn't find the square key but you get the message.

SOS - It's like flagging God a big HELP sign!

Hi, Dodie,

For me, "seeking the Lord" means trying my best to know and understand God and to learn his ways; the best way for me to do that is to read/meditate on his Word. All the other things, like praying, tithing, going to church, loving unconditionally all fall into place because they are buried in the Word. In all my getting, I strive to get understanding.

I'm asking but that is what I want/need to do but i don't really know what that means besides prayer and going to church.

for me it means not only seeking his Word by reading the Bible and studying, but seeking people whom he dwells in. Sometimes just being in fellowship with other people who carry the Spirit of God with them can be uplifting,
