can you get the same effect with molasses? Since I don't want my hair to lighten I hear molasses darkens the hair which I am fine with. It's has near the same properties as honey right? How much honey do you use in your concoctions?

Honey provides, moisture, shine and de frizzes. It will also eventually give you subtle dark brown highlights if used over a long period of time.
