I use Bath and Body Works clarifying shampoo. The baking soda and water idea sounds cool, I just haven't had the time to mix that.

Question Ladies: Can baking soda or acv rinses get rid of cones???.. right now i use a nexxus but i want to get away from sufate shampoos...

Vo5 Kiwi Lime. Squeaky clean!
I'll be trying ACV and BS soon since I'm starting to use "natural" products.

VO5 Clarifying shampoo. BUt now thinking of getting some baking soda to mix with it. Thanks for the ideas ladies. I love LHCF :)

I use Suave Clarifying Shampoo.

I've tried ACV and Baking Soda before and it did nothing to get rid of the gunk on my scalp and it didn't clarify my hair.

I am the opposite of you. Suave does not do it for me but baking soda does it better I think.

Anyway, baking soda, lemon or lime juice, and you will never believe this but I also use jasons moisturising hair shampoo. It does not even moisturize anything! My hair is so stripped and squeeky clean. Whatever was in there is gone!!

Bentonite clay. I tried the ACV and baking soda mix (and used ACV on its own) but the results weren't that great for me.

Castille Soap diluted - leaves hair squeaky clean without stripping. Hair is still soft and moisturized. I have also used Baking Soda, but I think Castille works better.

I will definitely have to try Baking Soda as a cheaper alternative. Right now, I love my Redken Cleansing Cream-- does the job, and very well at that. =]

I've always been a bit confused about the order of baking soda and ACV. Do you use the baking soda to wash then immediately follow with an acv rinse to bring the hair back to it's normal ph? or do you use the baking soda then after you condition ado an acv rinse? I'm super confused. I thought they were used for two separate purposes. Howevver, it looks like they are both used for clarifying. Can someone clear this up for me?? thanks!

Currently Using:grin::

1) Avalon Organics Lemon, Shea and Babbsau Oil
2) Aubrey Organics Green Tea Clarifying Shampoo
3) Nexxus Aloe Rid
4) Abba Molasses Clarifying Shampoo

I use V05 shampoo... the Tea Therapy line.

I don't think it says "clarifying" on the bottle, but it's SLS based without too many conditioners in it. It does the job just fine for me... I don't use cones or petroleum, so I don't have anything that needs to really be powerwashed away.

I used some moisturizing shampoo and added baking soda to clarify and I think I put too much backing soda, my hair was squeaky clean, but it also came out a tangled mess:wallbash:. I was surprised because I have used baking soda before with great results. I'm just putting it out there to warn first time users to be careful about the amount of baking soda you use. I think a big container with just 1 to 2 teaspoons of baking soda would give the best results:grin:

I have Avalon Lemon, Shea & Babbasu Oil Clarifying 'Poo and Clarifying Conditioner.

I also have -- Aubrey Organics Green Tea, AG Clarifying 'Poo, Nexxus Aloe Rid and Abba Molasses Clarifying Shampoos.

I've only been Purchasing Shampoos lately.:yep:

This might be a dumb question but i won't know the answer if i don't ask.....

for naturals who use baking soda and/or acv to clarify does it alter your curl pattern in any way?

ORS Creamy aloe, it's also chelating!
After I use it, my hair absorbs my products like 10x better!
It's great!
