Does God care what we want?

I know some people say that God wants me to be happy and loves me
but does he care what I want?

Please explain your position if its not to much to ask.

I think God cares about what we want about as much as I care about what my son wants. God knows what's best for us. Our best interests supercedes what we want.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Thank you Lord for not allowing me to have all the things I wanted. A lot of times we THINK we know what we want but we really don't. (understand the full ramifications of what we THINK we want) I think we have a narrow view of life like children, whereas God has the full picture similar to a parent.

Yes! yes! yes! His word says he will give you the desires of your heart. The caveat is that those desires must be in his will. I'm almost willing to bet that many of our desires are in his will, because he gave them to us.
