How often do you shampoo your hair?

I'm trying to grow mine super long. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Currently I use Creme of Nature Shampoo. I always use Infusium Leave in, but sometimes, I follow up with Suave Vanilla conditioner (Just disovered it, I love the smell).

karonca,

from what you wrote it seems to me that you don't always condition your hair. cause you said that "sometimes" after washing you follow with the suave conditioner.
i can only say that you should always always always condition. the longer the hair the more care it needs. always condition girl even if you think the creme of nature is enough. /images/graemlins/wink.gif
i shampoo my hair three times a week and i only shampoo once then rinse.
i think when you wash your hair three or four times a week you don't have to shampoo twice unless you have an excess amount of gel or spray or oil in your hair. happy hair growing.

i only wash my hair once a week if i can get away with it. i don't think the number of times is that important unless you have an excessive amount of sweat or something. i definitely agree with nay that you should condition EVERY time. yes, creme of nature is very moisturizing, but the conditioner is just as important.

also, some people have found that Infusium can be drying with daily use. i don't know personally because i've never really cared for it. i'm just saying to keep an eye on it. in fact, i'd rather see you use a regular conditioner like Elucence as a leave-in vs. the Infusium. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hi Adrienne,

First, I would like to compliment you on your hair it looks wonderful. I also had a scalp condition until I started AVC rinses. Looking at your growth is an inspiration. I wanted to comment on what you said about infusuim 23. I found that by using this product my ends have never looked better and have defined curls. My hair is 4a/b I wear it in braids no extentions in meduim sized parts. I think that this particular product works better on natural hair. The curls just drink this stuff up. I use it daily, after appliying I add some pure shea butter to the ends. Today at work a co-worker said "girl your hair is growing" I could'nt help but smile and think to myself "she ain't seen nothing yet". I use to perm my hair and used infusuim back then and hated it because it is watery. I could'nt make heads or tails of the stuff back then and did not see any benifit to using it. Now infusuim 23, Suave coconut conditoner and Shea butter are the staples of my hair routine.
Oh and agree with you 100% the hair must be conditioned every time you wash. (I do the no poo) Not conditioning your hair is like washing your car but not waxing it!
Peace and Blessings

Thanks you all.

I looove Infusium 23 leave-in. I use it after I wash, and I spray it on everyday to define my curls, although my hair isn't natural. But thanks again! /images/graemlins/wink.gif

I shampoo 3 times a week(with diluted shampoo). In the summer I shampoo more often because I wear my hair natural(my hair frizzes soooo bad with the humidity)...my rollersets are a waste of time in the summer.

My hair does not take well to shampoo. I am currently in braids and condition wash every two to three weeks. Without braids I condition wash once a week.

I read somewhere that the completely clean feeling you get with over shampooing is bad because all the natural oils (sebum) have been taken from your hair. The same article recommended 2-3 weeks in between washes but for me, that is too long a period.

I wash my hair every 3 days and I always follow it up with a deep conditioning treatment with heat. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

If it's possible I think I'm addicted to washing my hair!!!

I'm trying to do it every Sunday and Wednesday now. I use 2 shampoos and alternate between many different brands depending on what my hair needs. My fave at the moment is the Soft Sheen Breakthru. THANKS BEANA /images/graemlins/laugh.gif I won't go looking for another shampoo as this one is so moisturising. It contains no sulfates either, but I must admit I'm not really bothered about the sulfates as much anymore. I just always make sure I deep conditon and moisturise my hair well and oil my scalp.
