I use FOTE Aloe Vera Gel as my wash n go styling product.

This is what I use it for. I'll mix it with glycerin and my hair cream. My hair is pretty soft with this combo. I occasionally will drink the juice. Many years ago, my hair was growing like crazy when I was drinking it.

Today I made a braid spray with aloe vera, Infusium23 leave-in repair(ology) and a little water. I saturated my hair with it, then sprayed some Scurl to seal. My hair feels great!

Aloe Vera
Indians, Native Americans and Caribbeans have used Aloe Vera to promote healthy hair and prevent hair loss since ages. Aloe Vera balances the pH of the scalp and heals from within. It is also helpful in cleansing the pores. A general remedy of Aloe Vera gel with coconut milk and small amount of wheat germ oil used as a shampoo has shown great benefits. Aloe Vera surely helps you stop hair loss.

Aloe-Vera
Aloe vera is a wonderful product. Aside from it's well known moisturizing effects, it contains many of the products that seem to be effective in fighting hair loss. Like biotin, b-vitamins, zinc and even inositil. It also has anti-bacterial properties that help keep the scalp healthy, controling the bodies immune response which we know can have adverse effects on hair growth. In addition the moisturizing qualities when applied to the scalp increase the blood circulation to the hair follicle.

oh cool information..aloe vera gel is now my most product in the world lol it has so many uses and it NATURAL

Keep the the ideas coming!! I'm loving these individual ways of using it. Seems to be this FOTE is the better way to go if one can't find the juice instead (like me) LOL

I just bought some aloe vera by aubrey organics form the vitamin shoppe its a liquid in a 4 oz. bottle.

has anyone used this before?

i was using in my hair products but i didn't feel like i was getting enough value for my money there. however, at times i will use it like gel.

So i use mine to make a moisturizer for my face more than anything else and i have to say it is great like this.

So far I've added it to my hair moisturizers, skin lotions, and my hair conditioners. So far so good.

Last night instead of mixing the gel with my leave-in, I smoothed it on my hair first, then applied the leave-in, then sealed with ghee and then smoothed more gel on afterwards. This morning, my hair is soooo silky and soooo shiny, it is just ridiculous. I wish I had decided to use aloe vera daily in my hair and scalp before five or six weeks ago as my hair has never been better.

So mostly everyone would agree that Aloe vera Gel is a moisturizer because I could really use the loads of moisture....I've been chasing moisture all over the place. Can't get it and when I do I can't keep it.

I rub it on my boyfriend when he gets sunburn :)

Seriously, I bought it when I was 100% natural and never used it.

:bumpity:bump

I just bought Lily of the Desert Aloe Vera Gel. I'm natural with a TWA...from my research, its agreed AVG is a good moisturizer..do we use on wet or dry or does it not matter (when styling)?

I searched walgreens.com to see if it was in any stores in my area...all of the ones there don't have just 100% aloe vera in them...there are other things too. How frustrating. :(

I actually used it last year without realizing it was good for my hair. I just knew I wanted something non-greasy feeling for my scalp for a few weeks. It was during that time that I also started my MT use and saw noticeable growth.

Now, I am using MT, not really seeing growth like I did previously. I am not using AVG.

I wonder if it was the AVG that helped me to grow. :perplexed:perplexed Was it the MT and AVG together? :perplexed I would have NEVER thought of this if I had not see this thread. Thanks for bringing up the question, OP!

*reaching for my AVG*

Blessings and happy hair growth to us all!

Okaaaaayyyy....now I am also wondering if this might be better long term for me than MN since it's naturally antibiotic. I've used MN a few times but stopped because it gave me creepy crawly itchies. :nono: (No disrespect to any regular MN users at all because I know it has been a really good growth aid for many people.) Traycee, your hair is GORGEOUS!

Aloe vera has tremendous moisturizing properties for skin, but who knew that it has the same for hair? It just may be the secret of the ages for the aid of dry, damaged, brittle hair.

Here is a formula that takes under a minute to make (all you need is a bowl and spoon), and you can easily customize it with essential oils of your choice.
If your hair has any problems at all, you’ll want to see this!

INGREDIENTS
¼ cup aloe vera gel (readily available in health food stores)
½ of a lemon
3-5 drops essential oils of your choice

Mix the aloe vera gel with the juice of half a lemon. Add the essential oils. Apply to freshly shampooed hair. Leave on for 3 to 5 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.

Well as you are reading below, aloe alone can dry out your hair. I use it in my hair mixed with organic shea butter and a few drops of diluted tea tree oil this makes for a great moisturizer.

I just started using it in my spritz with HE HH and a little olive oil and water. My mom lives in St. Croix and one of the locals told her to put it on her scalp and wash it out the next day and her hair will really grow fast. I just tried it once, but I'll increase my "aloe rinses" to twice a week. The first time I did it before washing it out the next morning, my hair was amazingly soft. I was VERY impressed. Will definitely do it tonight.

I use Lily of the Dessert or something like and I refrigerate mine. I just love the way cold aloe vera gel feels on my scalp (especially in the summer time)!!!

I'm planning to mix it with my cowashing conditioners to help cleanse my scalp. I've also used it to smooth my edges in the past.
