Do you clarify, protein treatment, do the silk thing or nothing? I forgot what I did last time or the times before that and need help before I relax soon. Thanks in advance.

I always do a protein treatment the week before (or the wash time before). That way my hair is nice and strong the day I decide to relax.
I use Keraphix.

I don't do anything to my hair on relax day.

I try not to do anything special, but I try to do a protein (Emergencee) a week or two afterwards.

i just recently relaxed and all i did was wash my hair 1 week prior. On 'relax' day i coated my relaxed ends with giovanni direct leave-in and sealed with castor oil (especially my ends) *thanks to the advice on here.

I do a protein treatment the week before I relax, but I think that I will also try to clarify as well to see if I get better results with the relaxer.

I didn't find the option for what I do. I usually coat my ends with some heavy oil to prevent them from over-processing. I don't do a protein treatment before, but I do it for one month afterward. Does it seem to help any to do a protein treatment before relaxing?

It helps me

I have fine hair but a lot of it and my curl pattern is pretty tight. The extra protein helps my hair especially since it can take my hair a little longer to process especially when I use a mild relaxer. I notice softer hair with more body when I use protein a week before.

A week before my relaxer, I use a clarifying shampoo and a protein
reconstructor. I use Redken Extreme Rescue force fortifying Treatment. The day of my relaxer, I put silicon Mix leave-in(it has silk proteins in it) and oil on my relaxed ends.

A week before, I DC for moisture. I try to use some type of protectant on the hair that is already relaxed so I don't over process. So far it has helped. I am going to try and start doind a DC and a protein treatments

I do atleast 2 protein treatments in the weeks leading up to my relaxer. Jherri Redding Natural Protein. On relaxer day I coat my strands with cheapie conditioner to protect from overlap.

I don't usually do anything but I get a protein treatment two weeks after with Jherri Redding. I was thinking about trying something different before my perm this time and coat my hair with olive oil or castor oil. See if it makes a difference. I am completely into oils now so any excuse to use them. They work wonders.
