I'm not longhaired in my opinion...but my hair is longer than its ever been and what's worked for me is protective styling (braids & twists), hiding the ends even in ps's (my hair is almost never down and when it is down, its only for my washes) dc's 2x a week, oils (especially castor and especially in the form of oil rinses with my dc's) annnnnnd finger detangling in the shower once a month when I redo my ps. I don't use combs or brushes at all.

I'm adding... natural (chemical, silicone, plastics, sulfate, etc free) products.

I'm currently WL and my regimen is:
* Protective styling
* Deep condition every 2-4 weeks
* Co-wash weekly
* Rhassoul clay every month or two (clarify)
* Moisturize with spritzes 2ce daily!

Yup

they dont DC (very often)
They dont pre-poo
They apply moisture to their hair frequently

Although my hair is barely past SL I have adopted many of their techniques and my hair is doing just fine. I was doing most of these things pre- lhcf and thought since it worked then it should work now.

The only missing piece btwn then and now was the moisture protein balance and keeping my ends moisturized. I am much happier now.
