Hello ladies, Im in the market for a good digital cam ( i know, about time) anyways, just wondering what type of Cam do you ladies recommend ??? Im trying to see how many mega pixels i can afford.

I just got a sony cybershot dsc-w55. I got it in pink it was my birthday present and I love it. The pictures are so clear (7.2 megapixels) plus it has tons of other options including video. It costs around $200 (can be bought for slightly less), while it is expensive I feel it's worth every penny.

Sony makes great digitals but they make you pay BIG time for repairs. I suggest NIKON anything...all are compatible with each others parts {my little Cool-Pix can use my Honey's thousands of dollars NIKON D-100 camera's accessories} they are flexible, easy usage.

before you buy any camara check out this site. It's been recommended by several guys including my brother. It gives you detail reviews of all digital cameras: http://www.steves-digicams.com Oh yeah you can also buy these cameras from cheap venders online. I purchased this one: http://www.steves-digicams.com/2007_reviews/a460.html

from the online vender and got it within 3-4 days. I love my camera and it has not given me any problem. I've had it since march.

^^^cnet.com also gives good official and user (consumer) reviews on digital cameras. That is how I ended up with my CANON SD630, and everyone including me loves my camera!

(Next time, I shall get a camera w/ image stabilizer, though. I am a camera lover, and I want to upgrade).

I had the Samsung Digimax A503 and I loved it. Only $105 bucks at Wal-Mart. (too bad I can't find it  )
I think this is the one I have. It's red. I got it for $99. I like it a lot.

I have a canon powershot 610 and it takes amazing pics. I am real picky when it comes to buying cameras and I too do a lot of research on cameras before I buy. I just purchased one last night  its the canon SD800. It has a lot of good features and great reviews by others. I've been thru a lot of cameras because I was in photography in HS. I get the best quality of pics from canon and minolta. Take your time and search around. There are so many types to fit your needs. Along with the other websites mentioned dpreview.com is another great one that I use and you can do side by side, read reviews, they give you all types of websites that are selling the cameras for cheap. Sorry so long but I love cameras:D

Kodak Easyshare V705 wide-angle, um, I paid $270. I wouldn't recommend it unless you need the camera for wide-angle landscape shots too.

Canon PowerShot A570 IS
7.1 MP but it has an optical image stabilizer
I got it from amazon.com because it wasn't in the stores yet

It was $216 free shipping. They threw in a free 2GB memory card. A free photo book and a bag for the camera.

Not to mention what came in the actual box.

It takes perfect pictures; best camera I ever had

Here's a review

^^ i also have a Canon. It's a PowerShot A710 IS. I've had it several months now. The image stablization is a nifty feature that has you wondering what did you ever do without it.

It was a bit pricier than the others but it has a ton of options (especially for budding photographers). Some luv it, some don't - i LOVE it!

It's also the 3rd camera i had bought within a 2 day period - the other two i returned to the store :perplexed.

I thought about getting this one. I like this one because it has color swap

I got a Kodak EasyShare C433 with 4 megapixels. Caught it on sale at walmart for $99. Best bet is to look thru the sundays salepaper and compare prices. Walmart always has fair prices. HTH

I have been searching for the last two days on good deals on the Canon EOS 400d. I have found great reviews on this camera and I really am soososo close to buying it. Thing is I just bought a canon sd800 from Dell on Sunday. I really want to get back into photography so I'm tempted to buy it. Have you heard anything about it????

Anyone have the canon xt? i was thinking about getting that one.

I'm looking for a compact camera that can take some abuse and keep working. I have a 2 & 4 year old and I KNOW they will find a way to get their hands on it. I would like for it to have video w/sound feature and image stablization.

Any suggestions from you professionals? I was thinking that a Sony could take more abuse then a Cannon. While I know a Cannon takes better shots, I'm being realistic about what will work for me right now.

I couldn't afford one so I bought a phillips digital for $14.97 at walmart it looks like a toy, but it works fine for me and it even has webcam capability.

Both canon and sony run about the same price. My girlfriend tonight had a sony that took amazing pictures and I will have to get back with you on which one it was. Also it was small and durable. However I am a canon lover always have been and always will be....:D The new camera that should be coming tomorrow is a small camera with image stability and face recognition. You can search it (ebay as well) and find it for $200 or more. It has all the features your looking for and its small.
I think I could be a spokes person for Canon....:lachen: No but they have good cameras with great features at affordable prices.

Most of the digital cameras are excellent these days. But PLEASE take a little time to read the manual! Especially about white balance because this really helps when taking "in-the-bathroom" Fotki shots! The manual may look big, but that's only because there's several different languages in one manual. So ladies, do us all a favor and check out your camera features!;)

I just purchased a Kodak Z612 and love it. It has 12x optical zoom, optical image stabilization and 6.1 MP. It takes great pictures, has plenty of great features and settings, and has a low shutter lag time (takes fast pictures). I paid $199 at Office Depot. This camera received very good reviews from the most popular review sites (cnet, dpreview, steve's digicams, etc.).

I just bought a Polaroid digital camera for $89.99 from Walgreens and there's a $30 rebate on it so it'll only be $60 when all is said and done. I took my 1st set of fotki pics with a disposal digital camera, now I finally got a real one.
