What are your opinions on pre-pooing?

I have had a definite improvement in my hair's strength since I began pre-pooing. Initially, I tried it with EVOO, or some conditioner I was trying to get rid of. The results were okay, but now my sis-in-law sent me some Dabur Amla oil. She didn't like it, but my hair loves this stinky stuff! I mix it with suave humecto, and the results for me are always flowing silk and shiny hair. I wish it didn't stink so bad and may try another brand, but my hair is thriving with it as a pre-poo. I don't do it overnight though because I can't stand the smell.

I've tried it a couple of times didn't really see a difference...So it's just a waste of time for me:ohwell:

OMG!!! Pre-pooing saved my hair! I just put my sister on to it and she loves it also. Her hair was REALLY damaged from years of relaxing and dying. Her hair is not as brittle and dry anymore therefore not breaking off as much. The things I feel REALLY made the difference are avocado, coconut milk and various EOs. I prepoo with them once a week and wash my hair with an all natural sls free shampoo and follow up with a deep conditioner. What a difference! I just saw my mother for the first time since the summer and she kept going on and on about how shiny and healthy my hair looked. I HONESTLY feel that my hair looks better after everytime I prepoo! Im actually going back to wash and gos so I can prepoo twice a week! LOL

It's the easiest way to get my hot oil treatments and my protein treatments done.

It's really annoying for me to wash, rinse, hot oil, wash again, deep condition.

It's just simple. Whenever I'm ready to wash I do a hot oil treatment, or I do a protein treatment wash it out and then deep condition.

Sometimes I sleep in coconut oil, and co-wash in the morning. But other than that I've found it to be a waste of time.

i love pre pooing. with oils if im gonna shampoo but usually i use an all natural conditioner. it makes detangling a breeze and it keeps my hair hydrated.

I've gotten away from it, myself. I used to prepoo overnight but now i like things simplified. Simply poo and dc, when i do.

Relaxed or natural, prepooing was the only way for me. Only to me it's deep conditioning that happens to come before my cleansing routine, because I'm not hopping out of the shower only to go back in, yuck( i hate feeling wet for long periods of time):nono:
