I've tried it a few times before with a few products and after washing my hair i felt no difference.

Basically i think it's a waste of product, especially if shampoo is used to wash your hair after.
How has it worked for you?

Its the only way to go for me cause I have a lot of hair I usually condition overnight before co washing or use the ayurvedic oils the night before then use the Ayurveda tea mix the next day. Its beneficial cause it helps me with detangling easier and helps me get out of the bathroom in less than one hour with my hair. LOL See Pix below

I agree with you, I really tried. Tried it with EVERYTHING Oil, Oils, conditioners, combo of that,, heat, left alone, what ever you can think of. Never reported any difference. Last time i tired it just took a longer time to remove product from my hair with my shampoo.

Pre-pooing with essential oils and conditioner, focusing on my scalp and/or using steam literally eliminated my dandruff. I got lazy and stopped, but I plan to start again.

I don't really like mixing stuff, so I may use Burt's Bees Avacado pre-poo and some type of commercial scalp treatment like Jane Carter. Not sure...not trying to buy any more products, so I may just continue using what I have at home.

I have found hot oil "treatments" for pre-pooing don't work for me.

I just DC on dry hair before I POO, so all the oil treatments and other stuff isn't really needed...

I prepoo with Coconut Oil, EVOO & a thick deep conditioner on wet hair overnight saran-wrapped. In the morning I shampoo LIGHTLY once and condition. My hair feels like baby hair when I'm done  and detangling naked hair is super easy.

Great way to infuse additional moisture and conditioning into my hair. Also, beneficial way to use up conditioners I was not crazy about. In fact, they worked better as a conditioner "re-mix" than they did alone. Go figure...

Works great for me. I don't pre-poo parsay, I condition on dry hair before I've washed it. It saves me time and from hoppin in and out of the shower.

Prepoo on Dry hair has been wonderful for me...I baggy it for 45-1hr and I alternate btwn cheapie condish and Jajoba Oil...I don't do it everytime but def before a protein treatment. All the difference in the world.

I do a hot oil treatment on dry hair before shampooing and dc'ing. I put amla oil on my scalp and mix it with some olive oil for the rest of my hair. My hair seems to retain more moisture and look shinier even after the shampoo and condition.

I prepoo with any oil I have on hand, which is usually olive oil or jojoba.... sometimes coconut.

It gives me body - my hair has a thicker 'hand' to it.

Without pre-oiling, my hair is dull as the day is long. No bounce and life.

i like prepooing with oils better than condtioner. i soak my scalp & hair in oil (usually almond or coconut) & let it sit for a few hours before applying ayurvedic powders or shampoo bars. it prevents my hair from feeling stripped.

i found that i can't pre-poo with regular conditioner, whether it's protein OR moisture oriented. it leaves my hair entirely too mushy to manipulate.

Tried it for the first time tonight with an oil combo (sesame, avocado, coconut etc.) My hair felt super silky. But today is my first day. I will try it again to see if I notice anything, really.

I haven't noticed a difference after prepooing with oils or conditioners.
It feels like all of the product is washed out when I shampoo and it doesn't look or feel any different in the end.
I will prepoo with my protein treatments only because I have to follow that up with a moisturizing DC anyway.

I don't really notice a difference. I tried to pre=poo with coconut oil and condish over the weekend, but when I went to shampoo, I just ended up shampooing twice to get all the stuff out.... :look:

I think I'm just better off using nothing and shampooing once.

Pre-pooing has been one of the best tips I've gotten from LHCF. :yep:
Since my hair is baby hair fine :lachen: It helps with keeping it moisturized, detangling and my hair seems to be much stronger since I've incorporated it before my washes and dc.

I think maybe it depends on what you use to pre-poo and what your washing/rinsing with that makes a difference. :ohwell:

***I will say that my first time trying the pre-poo wasn't the best and I ran into the thread about porosity (spelled right?) and I figured out it was the step I was missing and now my regimen seems to be on point!***

i love it esp w/ oils..i am x weeks post..i think i lost count..17 18...

bu n e way it helps me detangle and makes washing my hair a breeze

I thought it was unnecessary, but did it on a whim 2 weeks ago and was shocked at the softness and shine of my hair after washing it. I used EVOO and left it on my hair for about 6 hours. In the past when I tried it, I left whatever I put on my hair on for about 30 minutes max.

I pre-poo with every wash and I love it. I use any conditioner and oils I'm trying to get rid of. My hair is so soft afterwards and it's so much easier to detangle.

I find it utterly pointless and do not do it. I'm washing my hair to clean it. I use quality products after washing so Im good.

No disrespect to anyone who does.

I LOVE Pre-pooing!
Infact, it is pretty much the only DCing I ever do now!:spinning:
I just use conditioners, sometimes I mix in oils!

It took a while to get my pre-pooing groove..... but now i co-wash after each pre-poo. It helps with detangling my hair!

Different strokes, for different folks as a smart lady above said!

I use pre-poos with oils and or protein treatments. It feels to me that this way, that my hair soaks up what it needs and then the 'extra' gets shampooed out. I no longer have that coated feeling on my hair after protein treatments.
