I am tired of seeing people wearing braids who edges start at the back of their ears and they have the nerve to have the braids up in a pony tail..

:( This bothers me too. One of my close friends has this. I have watched her hairline recede considerably over the past year due to back-to-back TRILLIONS. (no break in between.....just take-down, relaxer touchup, rebraid....over and over again) :( It's sad because she's beautiful and her hair was strong before she got the bright idea to do the TRILLIONS. I don't know how long it is, but I highly doubt it's strong anymore. She is about to begin modeling but her edges are pretty much gone now and she does not want to discuss it. She has spent $500 a pop every 2-3 months getting them redone. And will go to this chick in between for washes. This girl has been leading her to believe that this regimen will grow her hair but it's taking her hairline out and probably sucking her length dry of any moisture it might have so it's a lose-lose. But, my friend has spent so much money she is very defensive about the whole process and does not want to be shown wrong. Only she and her braider know now exactly what condition her head is in.

I suppose if I was tired of seeing anything...it's TRILLIONS. They are pretty. But they are BAD NEWS if you are trying to keep hair on your head. I'd like to see them disappear. :(

Ya'll have me  :lachen:  :lachen:  :lachen:  :lachen:!!

I'm tired of the busted weaves, braids that should have been taken down a millenium ago, wigs that are wearing the wearer, overly greased hair and the list goes on.

But the my pet peeve: the girl who refuses to trim those dead, see throgh ends, you know the one. The one with the hair soo thin, looking through glass is harder. She thinks flat ironing with higher heat will get the ends straighter, also use more grease too. :whip:

...and the ends of your hair look like they got caught in the shredder at work. Or there are only 14 strands of hair below your shoulders. Healthy hair at any length is sexy.

Oh dang!! I'm laughing so hard, I've gotta step away from the computer! You ladies have a great day!! :lachen: :lachen: :lachen: :lachen:

Fake products marketed to African Americans -- the black and white ads in magazines with the bushy haired little girl sitting on a stool. :perplexed

And hair magazines where the hair models all have weaves and try to act like its their real hair. These magazines have the same hairstyles over and over. No information on taking care of hair just articles upon articles on how to fry, dye and do ghetto poses.

i'm so out of it...what exactly are trillions???

I was about to ask the same thing. The first time I saw a post saying someone had trillions I thought they were saying that the person had a whoooole lot of braids (trillions of braids). But I guess trillions are a particular type of braid?

I also dont like that new two toned look like beyonce blond and a regular brown or black together.

This is 'very 2005' here, a 'trend' that got so overdone. Blonde and black was the most common one here. I saw a (caucasian) girl yesterday with it though. On top, different shades of blonde, highlighted, broken, around shoulder length hair (her own hair) and brown extensions underneath down to her waist... it looked so bad!

Which brings me to my 'tired of seeing' thing:
Different length hair or as I like to call it, the pseudo-mullet. Yet when someone has long, all one length hair people will say they need a haircut.
It seems long hair is only 'fashionable' if some of it is cut really short in many different lengths, or it's extensions

Also, hair products adverts and magazine articles on 'how they did this', when they forgot to mention the extensions and photoshopping.

i'm tired of seeing my ends broken off on my shirt, counter, floor etc

and i'm tired of seeing lil girls w/ crochet braids that weigh more than them

MAN! Oh the hairline!!! I cant stand to see people that have pulled back hairlines! Whether it be from relaxers or briads or ponytails or whatever. It commonsense! This girl that I tutor had a weave ponytail all pulled up extra tight, no hair on the sides and gel everywhere. UGH! And some have the audacity to gel the lil pieces that are left behind. :nono: And old wigs and weaves. Somebody tell Ms NewYork and Hottie that weaves arent supposed to sit up like that. And Wiggy Houston too! And the 2 tone color... HECK NO! I understand if your growing it out or if you have highlights but 1 big arse chunk of black hair in the midst of blond... not cute. And if I see another relaxer burn Ima scream! I saw a lady not too long ago with burns all around her forehead and all thru her scalp. And she had the nerve to have her hair in flat twists up to a ponytail and you could see most of the perm burns EWWW!

 @ fresh weave! Too funny!

Lately I've been seeing women wearing weave that's so ancient, its starting to stiffen, roll and nap up like real hair.

Please buy some fresh weave!!!

Well i guess since i live in Hair capital(Detroit) that is why i see sooo much hair all over the place. Braids all ran over and walked over in the street, sidewalk. Sometimes b4 i use 2 get scared when i wud c it from far away but then when i get up close its like, oh its just some weave. Now I'm like, whatever, w/o getting close to really know what that may be, if i see something furry i just assume its some left over weave. I mean i see it ALOT. lol

In 2006 I am so tired of seeing women who weave their hair so much and so tight that their hairlines are non existent. Yet they still continue to do it over and over again.....

Ya'll gotta stop....got me crying up in here cause I'm laughing so hard :lachen: :lachen: :lachen:

So tired:

*Ponytails that don't even come close to matching the hair color and texture of the wearer

*Matted up kinky twists

*Taking out braids at work or at a party

*Girls bringing bags of hair into their classrooms at school and trying to match up colors by holding up tracks to each other's heads during study time.

*Stinky, funky hair that smells like it hasn't been washed in two months. Have we still not yet established that water is NOT the enemy.

*Do rags and wave caps worn in the street. Sorry, but I feel like this is a fad that has outstayed it's welcome.

*Those highlights/streaks that white girls with dark hair get that look like my five year old painted a zebra on their head. I HATE those darn streaks.

Here is my list:

1. I am SO tired of slicked down baby hairs. Sorry, if this is any of you. I think it is an oxymoron. Baby hairs are exactly that, BABY HAIRS. Chili from TLC is the biggest offender.

2. I am tired of women with no napes, doing ponytails and other nape-exposing styles.

3. Tired of little girls less than two hands old with relaxer damage!

4. Hair done like Remy Martin. What would possess you to have blond bangs and jetblack hair?

5. Punk rocker chicks with Kool-Aid dyed hair. WTF is wrong with you? Kool-Aid is for drinking not for hair dye!

6. Women who do fancy hair styles for weeks on end with fuzzy hair, thinking it looks good.

7. Curly weaves. Oprah and Jada are the only two with great curly weaves. It must be done by a professional!

8. Doo Gro products. I know some of you may want to pinch me, sorry. I am offended at products geared towards Black people, like we can't read, write or spell properly. Sorry :(

9. Doo-rags! I always think of Arabs riding on horses, when I see them. However, I can make an exception if the guy is cute enough

10. Non-gradual weave wearers. Maybe I am not open minded, but if your hair is like a pixie cut, how do you come in looking like Pocahontas the next day? That is not gradual. I thought the person of a hair piece was to give the illusion that this could be yours.

Okay, sorry to make this so long. :angeldevi

Mohawks! They've been everywhere in Baltimore for the past year and a half. And the little puff in the front (Like Gwen Stefani had for a minute) with the long straight ponytail in the back. Let it go! lol

the fauxhawks. I don't mind the short hair cuts that look like mohawks my friend has one and its fabulous on her but I don't see very many of those. She has the middle of her hair curled so it stands up and the sides lay down and the rest of it has flips. Her hairs only like an inch long on the sides and maybe 3 inches in the top and back though. It's sounds weird but it looks so cute on her. I mean the fauxhawks with the twists and cornrows going up with the curls in the middle and the few curls hanging in the front of the face. And the crazy colors. It's going on 2 years. Tired of seeing it. Let it go. Even feather wraps have fallen off. What's good with the fauxhawks? Come on Baltimore!

Soon as I get me enough hair, I am making me a fauxhawk. No me importa. None of yall will crush my dreams.

Running out of the thread

LOL I'm sorry honey! Are fauxhawks real popular other places? It's been like THE 'DO here for a while now. First it was the puff in the front with a long straight track ponytail. Then the feather wrap. Now the twists/cornrow mohawk. It's like when you see a style here, EVERYBODY has it. It's crazy. When I was in high school everyone was on twists or french braids up with curls. I could be in school and pick out which heads my hair dresser did. Crazy.

i think they're good for small foreheads..gives some height.

i think the prob. with trends is that old saying ."Everythang ain't for everybody" people need to take their unique features, and lifestyle in consideration. usually they see somthing 'hot' on another person and try to frankenstein it in but unles s you're lucky so many fads backfire.

i'll have to say too that if you find something that really works for you and your life, it might be best to wait until something truly better comes along. change just for the sake of change isn't a good thing. especially with hair.
