Lately I've been loving my Jane Carter Deep conditioner...can't seem to want to use anything else.

How about you?

Cetrimonium Chloride. This gives my conditioners so much slip and makes detangling a breeze! I don't know why I didn't try it sooner. I will never not use this ingredient.

DCing with a mixture of Bask's Whiskey and YAM. I need to knock it off or I will deplete my stash before Black Friday.

Alikay Naturals Aloe Berry Styling Gel. It provides a super (super) light hold so just a water rinse gets it out. And I typically don't go for fruity or candy smelling products, but this smells like watermelon Jolly Ranchers and I love it. :)

Silk Dreams Destination Hydration Moisture Conditioner for cowashing and as a detangling rinse out.
Darcy's Botanicals Herbal Leave-In Conditioning Spritz for the L Step in the Liquid Cream Oil Method and as a quick refresher for when I do not feel like moisturizing and sealing in sections.

Annabelle's Perfect Blends Hair Creme's and Hair Puddings in Watermelon, Blueberry Cheesecake, and Butter Creme. Moisture for days with this stuff.

My formulating mixes. Love, love, love them. Everything I have looked for in products like this - softening, detangling, smoothing, lasting moisture, and not greasy at all.

Still need to work on my aloe gel and hair treatment. Both are driving me crazy. :lol:

Do you add this to your conditioners or just look for products that have it?

If so, which ones are you using now?

Shea Moisture Purification Mask:
A recent discovery of mine, but we fell in love upon first use. It makes detangling a breeze, and now I can't be without it!

PBN MuruMuru Moisture Milk & Cupuacu Butter. My hair feels like silk. This isn't even a love affair... Ima have to put a ring on it (aka buy more when PBN has a 40% off sale this summer).

Headwraps/turbans. I love me a funky-patterned head wrap! Really, decorative hair accessories of any kind.

I throw my hair up, slap some bobby pins in & go. The best part is, I can mold my hair to hide anything I want.

My edges are trying to make a comeback from my devastating postpartum shedding. Then I had a few pieces that I cut because they were heat damaged & i've stopped using heat. Today they were acting a little funky. So, I slapped my headband on, piled my hair on top of my head in a loose pony. Divided that in half & used part to create a swoopy/funky bang & the other part became a loose/messy bun.

I even pinned a flower to cover up the elastic band. Super cute!

AO GPB-- love at first sight, my love has only grown (this stuff is awesome DC & an awesome detangler).

DoDo says this increases the tensile strength of hair. I'm going to have to research this more. Unless, one of you :bookworm: want to give me Cliff Notes:look:

"Iron damage can be reduced by using conditioners formulated with low molecular weight conditioners that can penetrate into the hair like cetrimonium chloride. Another study (see Reference 2) showed that exposing hair to heat in the presence of such a conditioning agent actually caused an increase in tensile strength (the force required to break a hair). This is because the heat reacts with the conditioning agents and cross links some of the protein chains inside the hair. Look for products like Sunsilk Heat Defense Creamif you want this effect." - Beauty Brains

@SweetlyCurly

I make my own conditioners and add this to the water phase at 2%.

@MileHighDiva

I didn't know anything about it increasing the tensile strength of hair but @DoDo just posted some info on it. This blog post and Ogoma are the reasons I decided to start using it: http://swiftcraftymonkey.blogspot.com/2009/07/cationic-quaternary-compounds_29.html

Design Essentials curl stretching cream and the gel for my wash n gos! Really love this paired over AVJ, APB leave in spray and lotion and the cream. It doesn't leave my hair hard or anything.
