Wet to dry flatironers and pressers.....

I know there was big and very informational thread about this...but I have one specific question for those who have been doing this successfully:

Do I have to have a tourmaline ceramic iron, or can I do this with my regular ceramic iron?? Also is 450 degrees too much? TIA!!!

I always believed that one should get a flat iron specifically designed for wet to dry because it has steam vents and is designed for wet hair. Regular flat irons are not designed for wet hair. I don't think Tourmaline vs. Ceramic matters - it is preference based on how each performs for your hair. Plus they make flat irons that are both Ceramic Tourmaline.

Since I use a pressing comb and its wide open to air, I really would think the flat irons designed for this with vents would be best, but others have used a non wet to dry Iron with good results too

I believe any wet-to-dry flat iron should be OK, but if you have money to spare, Tourmaline gets the most kudos according to the reviews here.
