Weave Wearers I need a lil help (pics)

I got my sew-in done last week and man....this hair just will not do. It is Que by Milky Way and its garbage hair. I thought I was doing something by saving money but actually I was only hurting myself. This hair or either the technique used has the sides around the nape of my neck irritated, itchy and I can feel very small bumps. The pics I have here are just pics of the hair itself. Yeah, shiny plastic-looking, and of course I have the tracks exposed because around the house I don't want all the hair in my face. I need a recommendation for more hair. Some that is THICKER and doesn't have to be doubled onto every braid because I think that is another thing that has my head irritated. I just need some track hair that is nice and thick but lord knows that Im on a budget so I can't go price overboard but this hair was 14.99 a bag and I guess that's just a bit too cheap.

So thin at the top the tracks don't cover properly. Have to constantly brush and brush and brush all day long. Plus its doubled, plus my hair underneath is braided real big.

I took a strand of one of the tracks out and wanted to show you all the little prickly part on the left side of the track. This is poking me in my scalp and Im thinking its because of how it was cut. I didn't do this myself but Im thinking what else could she have cut the track with?

This is only the 2nd weave I have worn in my life so Im not really an expert on it. This last pic I took I wanted to show the part where my middle finger is is where the tracks don't seem to be measured right. They all have that little hanging piece on the end of them and Im guessing its because they're doubled. (Notice the obvious track hanging down, I loosened that myself, it was just rubbing too much). (This is the back of my head)

Help I need help, I need better hair any suggestions I am all open.

I think maybe your cane rows are too tight, and sometimes it could be the thread thats pulled too tight making the canrows tighter therefore causing hair bumps. Sometimes the underside of the weave itches my skin, underside as in the shorter side through the weft. I have never used this hair and looking at it; it looks kinda stange like it already has canerows attached so I would probably look into getting another brand of hair. Sometimes when I havent gotten a weave in a while when i first get a weave again it itches like crazy!!! I think because your hair hasnt experienced that tension in a while your hair is pulling on your scalp causing discomfort. You might need a new weaveologist.

You're talking about the beard. OP, I would take it down and start over with some better hair. How long do you plan to keep your weave in? That will dictate the type of hair you should buy.

Hey Glamazon I wanna keep it in for at least 2 months if possible. I heard that Sensationnel was a good brand of hair....can anyone vouch for that?

Yeah Sensationnel is pretty good. If I were you, I'd spring for the Goddess Remy. It'll keep up for 3 months at least. And you can reuse it.

I understand you are on a budget, but I suggest a little splurge on your hair. It will pay off. Especially if you'd like to keep it two months. I'd not done weaves much outside of *drama* for an evening. When I decided to use it as protective styling, my main objective was to look as natural as possible but not break the bank.

I buy a brand of Indi Remi. The 10" goes for about $72, BUT I've used it over two installs and it still looks excellent and in shape for a third install should I need to again. I plan to get every dollar out this stuff, believe me. It had a slight shine on install but one wash and it looked very natural.

Like Nixx22jam said, consider a new hair tech. Even with the cheapest of hair a good hair tech can get you better coverage than what you're describing. They should also have a memory bank of hair types that work in all price ranges.

I agree that you should splurge on the hair because the higher quality hair you can use multiple times especially if you don't cut the track. Check out BHM's weave section for more info and Ediese's fotki.

Yeah that's another thing. The girl who did my hair is like the only person on EARTH who doesn't braid tight. I mean I wanted everything to be comfortable, the braids and the weave. The last chick braided my nape hairs to the back of my neck then sewed the weave in underhanded. I went back the next day and told her take that schitt out please and she did and gave back half the money for her labor which was cool but after that I heard she got more than a few dissatisfied ppl, Im like damn does anyone NOT braid tight? My hair is natural as well and Im not going to keep putting heat on it to make these stylists happy. I also think I should have them spray the thread with tea tree or something or soak the hair fresh out of the bag because my nape is so irritated and feels raw and bumpy. Ohhhh!!!!!! What to do, what to do......

Yeah definitely check out BHM. If you can't find someone you like, I'd say do it yourself. There are tutorials on BHM and YouTube. Are you looking for straight hair or something curly?

Also, was the hair washed before it was installed? I think it must be washed a couple of times. Also, the less expensive the hair is the more likelyto have non-human hair additives. I say splurge and get some better hair if you are trying to go 2 months. You will save money in the long run.

I totally understand your challenge. I'm trying to find someone in my area to cornrows and I don't want it done tight because I am tender headed AND I have never had a weave before.

No, the hair wasn't washed. I have learned my lesson that! I was in too much of a hurry to get it done anyway. Im looking at some things on BHM, wow so much information and so many different opinions. Just when something starts to look good here come a slew of ppl to say no. But I will keep looking though. Im also thinking maybe I should just go against it and get like a quick weave or something. Whatever I get I just want all my hair to be braided up. Maybe I should look for an alternative until Im ready to spend that kind of money on hair. Im going back in for 2nd degree and Im thinking maybe I should save the money but I don't know.
