Weave is out, & I kinda miss my bob :-( *pics*

I got a little concerned with effects of wearing the sew in for too much past 3 months, so I went ahead and uninstalled. I failed to go to 4 months until Dec like I planned to, but it's okay. It's good I did because due to me washing it every friday, it seemed to be gearing up to mat near the crown. I had a little trouble untangling in that area. I don't think I'll get another sew in until sometime next year.

I've been in weaves for a total of a bit over 6 months. With a 4 day break in between. I kinda miss my bob now, it was so much fun and easy. Now I'm too tired to detangle, so I'm just going to wait until tomorrow. My hair's bigger, and I broke two hair bands trying to put it all in this bun.

The straight part in the front is the bangs area left out to mesh with the weave hair. I'm sure there's heat damage there. I'll return to this thread to update after I wash and do something with it that makes me look less homeless.

I didn't feel right walking around with my hair not detangled, so I went ahead and detangled it and put it in a puff.

and i hope there isnt heat damage. im dealing with that and its not pretty.

Pretty nice. I know what you mean. I love a nice sew in too. Had to back away from them because of my edges and It was hard to give em up.

If that is all you left out and it looked that good, then maybe I am not resigned to getting a full sew-in with bangs. I was really afraid my hair would look crazy if I left some out since I'm natural, too. On my head, that section of hair has a looser texture anyway, so heat damage wouldn't be the end of me.

I'll be watching this thread like a hawk...

Yes, I'm natural, Chebaby, I am sure I'm going to have a little bit of heat damage from the two sew-ins i've had and the hair that was left out. It's not terribly bad, a couple washes and it looks better. Not perfect, but better. My bang area has always been looser than the rest of my hair anyway.

Aww thank you! I miss the ease of the sew in now that I am charged with detangling my nest of a hair. It's mad greasy/oily from all the moisturizing I did every weekend that I washed, so I'm happy about that. I'm sure you can tell from the pics. I could have gone a couple more weeks, but I think it may not have been a good idea, because I spotted matting in some areas ONLY saved by the amount of oil that I put on my scalp that helped me untangle.

Thanks, but I just posted some new pics of the hair after detangling. The first set is NOT my texture, but crinkles from the braiding for the tracks

i'm sorry you had to take it out. but at the end of the day, it is better to be safe than sorry. and you said you did start to feel matting, so you had to do what you had to do.
when i saw the thread, i was like, what happened? i thought she wanted to keep it in. at least in the future, you know that w/ a sew in you don't have to wash it that often. Unfortunately i'm at work, so i cant see the pics. but i'm sure they look nice as usual.

Thanks, but it was super dirty. I couldn't rock that hair style out in public. You can physically see the dirt despite how much I washed

well the bangs look straight because this is the hair right out of the sew in, so it's straight. It's not severely damaged like you guys think because of the pic. I've always had a little heat damage in the front, but after a couple washes, it reverts. Trust me. This is what it ends up looking like, heat damage and all

What did you use to detangle?

Get the sew in! just make sure to take care of it. I actually didnt use any thing other than a wide tooth detangling comb and coconut oil. I just separated it into 4 and Im going to go over sections with a rat tail just for measure
