:look:I was wondering if u leave a satin scarf on for a long period of time(say about 2 to 3 days) will it stunt ur hair growth or enhance it because you are keeping low maintainance on it??:look:

I always wanted to know!!!

I don't think it will stunt your growth, unless you have it tied on so tight that your blood doesn't flow. I think you'd knock yourself out first if you do that anyway. The only other thing is to remember to tie it low on your forehead so it's not resting on your hairline. The friction from that could wreck havoc on your hairline.

good question.

I just started wearing scarves this spring......silk scarves that is.

It's my "spring/summer look"! I rollerset, then wrap a scarf around my hair.

like this:

I always remove it at night though.

I'm loving the low maintenance style..but I've wondered if I'm hindering my hair growth.
It doesn't seem to be a problem now, but if my hair appears to start growing at a slower pace, then I'll stop.

I don't think it hinders growth at all. I just posted my progress in the C&G thread and I wear hats or scarves practically every day. The other day, a coworker even asked me if I hated my hair coz it's always covered. LOL (If only she knew, I do this to curb my HIH disease!)

The only time I think scarves are bad is if they're tied along the hairline so that they cause friction there and break the hair.

Satin and silk scarves keep the hair moisturized--a very good thing. :yep: These scarves are staple items for me, for airdrying, for wearing in weather conditions and for sleeping in. :)
