Elit chiq, do you have your hair relaxed now? If so, I don't think wave nouveau is compatable w/ relaxed hair. A friend of mine does wave nouveau and it looks like a regular curl to me and her hair never grew either. It's been the same length for the last 4 years. In my opinion the chemicals they use are too strong. Do some more research on it in different forums before you decide.

I remember a friend of mine years ago had a wave nouveau (I think) and it was very pretty. It was kind of medium sized curls and it was wasnt greasy or messy.

I remember the jheri curls. I don't see much of those anymore!! My uncle's wife is the only person I know who has one. I can always tell when she is at my parents house. I can smell her hair before I see her. I wonder why her hair has that odor.

They a brand new system for the Wave Nouveau that is supposed to keep hair hydrated with out being greasy and you can go from curly to straight. Check out the hair salon websites. I saw the ad in Black hair So.

You are right about how the curl looks different on everyone. I think the process itself is damaging to the hair. It is a double chemical process, first straighten and then the curl process, that dries out the hair so you have to keep it wet to keep moisture. I use to have one and my hair kept breaking so much. I'm like you I could wait to get that stuff off my hair!

When I got a wave nouveau wayyyyy back in the day it made my hair break off terrible. It was too strong for my hair and I have hair that can take almost anything. The funny thing is I had to get a jerri curl (oh my) to grow it back and get it back healthy again. A tragedy for a child in the fifth and sixth grade!!
