I dotn know if i have alreayd put up a post a while ago bout this product but i was wondering if any1 uses this? Its kinda popular in NY my fam uses it and i remember bein in NYC and seein an advertisement bout it at a salon there. But here in Detroit NO1 has that style. I see 2 products for it and thats it but thats not even in the beauty shop stores(unless maybe i havent looked well enough) so i was wondering if any1 still sports this style and if any1 from detroit is here are there any salons that do this style? Btw, it DOES grow hair. My cousin has had it for about 6 months or so now and her hair was at ear length now its touching her shoulder. Its a dry curl is what im told. You can wear it curly or str8.

I had wave nouveau a couple of years ago for about three years. Never had a dry day in my life and still don't know why any of those curls claim to be "dry." But they certainly do promote growth. I'd ask your cousin about confirmation on the dry claim. Never wore it straight when I had it (stylist suggested against) and just got the larger curlers for waves.

I wore a wave nouveau for 10 years and I liked it. It does promote growth and you can wear it dry, but not for long. I had to wet it down after a day or my hair would get dry and start to break.

When they mean dry they mean it as not all drippy not the same as a jheri curl. I remember seeing her w/it when she first got it earlier this year and her clothing was not messed up w/it or anything. I do think that is what they mean dry. Or just drier or so.

I used a wave nouveau for two years after having a regular curl for a year, and my hair grew so long with it! I think it looks better on short hair though, because my hair was very stringy after a while. The curls/waves wouldn't hold. I could pull it back into a straight-looking bun or french roll, but if I tried to wear it loose, it just frizzed up. I had a bad experience, though. After reaching mid-back length, a bad touch-up caused it all to fall out. I wish I could have sued that stylist! It was in the middle of a school year, too.

Anyway, I would never get a wave nouveau again. I couldn't wash my hair as much as I wanted, and the salon visits were too costly.

Aha...thanks for the clarification. I didn't really notice that the wave nouveau was any less wet than the others. I had a carefree curl, hawaiian silky, and this one. They all seemed to drench any sofa.

Glad u mentioend that bout the stylist u'd have 2 go to to get it done. In NY i was told its 75 to get it done and u have to be there 3-4 hours cause of all the sitting to have the stuff set in ya hair. Well i guess i'll just go and do what im doing now and get me soem braids and keep them in for a shorter time than i usually do and then grow it from there. OK thank you all.

I washed my hair so rarely when I had curls (by suggestion of my hairdresser again) I couldn't honestly answer that question! I didn't even know wave nouveau had special shampoo and conditioner. Where can you buy them?

It's not the Wave Nouveau that grows the hair its the moisture activatior that keeps the hair soft and moist all the time.

SOOOOOOO if you kept using things like S-Curl as some of the posters here suggest then your hair will be moist and not break as much.
