I saw that one before. It really was a shame.

Makes me think twice about them. I was actually considering growing out my hair and getting one.

Why would you grow out your hair naturally and then throw a jheri curl in it anyways. My friend did that recently and I'm still wondering WHY! It looks so pretty when she blow dries it straight instead of the jheri juice.

That is sad for the little girl

Well the girls mother took her to a stylist to have the procedure done, first of all the stylist was double booked so they had to wait two hours for the actual service. Then when the stylist was about to perform the service the mother was checking the product and was asking her if she was using the right strength, I believe that she used a super on the girl or something high like that, then the stylist left the stuff on too long according to the mother 30-35 mins. The stylist said only 20 min. The jar says not to leave on the hair for longer than 15 min. Well after the service was complete, the girl and her mother went home and after they got home, the breakage began. So the mother returned to the stylist to complain about the breakage and the stylist acted like she did not care and did not offer any corrective procedures or anything. Well to make a long story short the girls hair broke off in large amounts. She had bald spots in the back and many short broken off pieces in the front.

So the mother decided to sue to recoup the money from the damaging service. The stylist says that they did not care for it properly and if the hair was overprocessed and damaged, it would have began breaking off in the salon.

deep dimples: You can't go from a relaxer to Wave Nouvea but you can go from wave to relaxed. So in order to get one I would have to grow out my relaxer and cut off my relaxed hair in order to get one.

Sounds like my horror story with Aveda - though luckily, not as severe. Such a shame esp for a young child. I am so weary of chemicals now.

Just to warn you you also can't go from a curl to a relaxer. I had a curl for 10 years

and it took me a while to find a stylist who would lie to me and tell me I could transition to a relaxer. Well most of my hair was gone with the wind after the relaxer took over.

I have a friend who has a wave nouvea and asked about the care of it and all. I'm gonna print this thread and give it to her.
