What products have you tried that didn't do what they claimed they would do? Help out your fellow LHCF members so we don't end up wasting our money. Especially those who are PJs like me (I'm working on this

).

yeah, nexxus isn't all that... to get good results I mix it with other conditioners. I don't like any of them that much...The aloe rid is pretty good though

and biolage detangler... didn't detangle

Ditto. I always hear such good reviews of it from everybody, but the products have done absolutely nothing for me; not when I was relaxed and absolutely nada now that I'm natural.

I would also say that Suave conditioners have never worked too well for conditioner washes for me either.

The motions products did nothing for my hair, I will not invest in their products in the future.

As far as Nexxus, I have always had success with the humectress as a leave-in. I haven't really used any other Nexxus products like that.

Things that were a total waste
down.gif

Keracare Humecto
Infusium 23 leave-in
Pure Jojoba oil

I'm positive there is more but I'll come back when I think of 'em.

The problem is that one product may work for one person and not work for someone else so I guess it's trial and error.

Aveda's Sap Moss and Brilliant line both dry my hair out but other people rave about them!

VO5 peaches n' cream
Lust
Silk Elements luxury MC
Optimum stay strong conditioner
Dark N' Lovely conditioner
Tresemee anything
Nexxus anything
Infusium
Giovanni's nutrifix reconstructor - hair too hard. Sticking with AO GPB
AO J.A.Y. - consistency is wierd. Won't buy again.

Any Jason's conditioner. That stuff does not want to leave the hair.

Motions products have always worked for me...especially the Nourish Leave-in Conditioner and the Relaxer. I also use Motions shampoo and sometimes their hair & scalp conditioner.

Products that are a waste to me:
Wave Noveau (?dont know the spelling)
Suave Spritz
got2b pomade
JAM products

Thank you guys for responding. I feel so special. LOL. his was my first post, so you know I got all excited. I have another one about stalkers in the off topic forum. Check it out and respond if you have any comments pertaining to that subject.

Biolage de-tangler (what a joke!)
Aveda sap moss (although Aveda Brilliant worked nice)
Paul Mitchell conditoners
VO5 Oasis
Aussie 3 minute miracle (no miracle, just tangles!)

hmmm...I'm sure I'm forgetting more

Neutrogena Triple Moisture Mask and Leave In (the serum is awesome though!)
Nexxus Humectress

But like hairlove said, everyone's hair is different! Also, if something doesn't work for you the first time around, give it a few more tries. I hated Elasta QP Shampoo for Relaxed Hair the first try. But lately, it's been my favorite shampoo. I found that it works best when I don't have too much product in my hair.

Keep trying different products. That is all the fun!

alot of these products listed get rave reviews from others. just goes to show ya, this hair thing is really trial and error. there is nothing i can say is really a waste of my money. i do alot of research before i buy anything i read about here, and for that reason i love most things i spend my money on. maybe there are products ive learned to use more efficiently, but there is nothing ive bought that does NOTHING for my hair. Bandwagon shopping is a waste of your money if you dont do research first.

Herbal Essences Fruit Fusions Conditioner for Dry/Damaged Hair. Hate it. Made my hair even drier. Luster's Pink Oil Moisturizer (Light and Regular). Really hate it. Citre Shine Shine Spray. Haaaaaaaaate it. Didn't tame my frizzies at all, and didn't make my hair shine at all. Lastly, Infusium 23 conditioner. I give it a raspberry. Don't like it and it sucks big time.

that serum truly did nothing for me either.

I have not had a good track record with:

[*]Any Herbal Essence product [*]Any Breakthru (from Optimum Care) item [*]Any Tres Semme product [*]Pink Oil moisturizer (HORRIBLE stuff) [*]Kemi Oyl (most people rave about, but it's not my cup of tea) [*]Elasta QP Mango Butter (I love the Glaze, though) [/list]

The scary thing is that you could do another post about people's favorite products and you'd see many (if not all) of the same products listed here. You really just have to pick some and see which ones work for you. What I do is look to see what people have hair similar to mine and that helps a lot, too.

Motions Products
Lusters pink Lotion
Elasta Qp mango butter (Worked for a while then stopped)
Wild growth oil

These products do nothing for my hair!

I think that's exactly right, Hairlove. By the way, congratulations on being the feature of the month. Your hair is absolutely gorgeous!

I look at those whose hair looks similar to mine and follow some of their routines :. Yup!!!!

You're absolutely right about this Hairlove. If Tracy and Beana3 reccs something, 9 times outta 10 my hair will like it. And also I've noticed that at one point in time my hair didn't respond well to certain things and now it's responding to them a lot better. I think it's becuase my hair is in a lot healthier state. It's all trial and error. I take my chances. And if it hadn't been for my Pjism and bandwagoning, I never would have found my beloved staples
