Was I the only bride who experienced hair horror on her wedding day?

Okay, as some of you all know, I got married last week (Thursday) in Negril,Jamaica. Thankfully I was not TOO excited about every single detail, ie, hair, shoes, etc, because MY HAIR FRIZZED!!! The Maxiglide and hot rollers failed me miserably. Everyone there thought it looked 'natural' and pretty, but I was not a very happy camper. I spent several hours straightening and re-straightening my hair and FOR WHAT I don't know. The Maxi has always come through for me,but this time it didn't. While I said my vows to my honey, I just started crying out of nowhere- he thinks its because I was so overwhelmed with emotion but I was P.O. about my hair:rofl: (No, but seriously, I was overcome with emotion). Anyway, I am still in the process of moving in his home, so later, I will post pics, but they will be in the off topic forum because I don't want non-members to see the pics- I was bucky nakey on the beach! Just kidding! Take care lovely ladies!

Aww! Look, I've seen pics of you and there's NO WAY you looked anything but beautiful at your wedding!

A

P.S. Congratulations!

OOOH NO BUBLN, say it ain't so  Your hair is too beautiful, in ANY state, I just can't believe it :nono:

CONGRATULATIONS by the way

I'm so sorry this happened to you. One day you'll look back on this and laugh.....well, maybe. Anyway, I didn't have a hair disaster on my wedding day, but I did the day of my bridal portraits. I was natural at the time and wanted my hair flat ironed and some weave added to make an updo. My wedding coordinator found the stylist and made the appointment for me. I sat down in the stylist's chair about 4 hours before I was scheduled to take my pictures, told her what I wanted, and she told me she didn't do weave or put direct heat on hair. She only did rollersets !?!?

My mom and I ended up flat ironing my hair and buying a phony bun from the BSS store. Once I put my veil on you really couldn't tell THAT much. Now everytime I see my bridal pictures I notice my frizzy edges and cheapo bun...but no one else seems to. Or else they've been lying to me.

Anyway, the important thing is YOU'RE MARRIED!! Congratulations!

Congratulations!! I'm sure your hair did not look as bad as you thought...you know we are our own worse critic.

Congratulations to you and your husband! I'm sure you did look natural and pretty like your wedding guests said! :)

Congrats B! The vanity in us gets to you at the worst of times. I know you looked just beautiful despite the humidity there. What did your husband think about your hair?

I got married in Negril at Couples back in 2002 and for a few days and all I seemed to focus on was my limp and frizzed curls. Luckily, I had a headpiece and veil fit for a queen so, the hair was mostly covered up in the pictures. When we sent pics out, friends and family would say, "Why was most of your hair covered up?" If they only knew. But seriously though, when I look at our pictures, now 4 years later, I remember how much I loved my man and how I felt like a princess. My husband never mentioned my limp hair. ;)

You will be alright! You's married now! Congrats again!

Congratulations  !

I know how you feel. On my wedding day I decided to wear my hair up in a curly bun with side swept bangs. The hairstyle it self looked fine and everyone was impressed that I had done it myself, but on me it did not work. I looked like I was five years old playing dress up in my mothers wedding gown:babyb: (not quite the look I was going for). Every time I look at our pictures I wish I could go back and change my hair. I am looking forward to our ten-year anniversary so we can renew our vows and i can get the wedding day hair I always dreamed of  .

Just wanted to say congrats...our hair can be a pain at the worst of times, but I'm sure you still looked beautiful;)

Congrats, Bublin! Your hair probably was rebelling against the humidity. I'm sure you were gorgeous though. :)

Congratulations on your wedding. I was wondering when you were going to post some pictures.

I thought that I would have a hair horror also on my wedding day. I was transitioning and my mom had pressed my hair and I got it put up in a french roll with curls in the front. It was in Feburary so I didn't have to worry about to much humidity but I could swear that my edges would start to "nap" up. It turned out okay with no hair problems and looked beautiful.

Stop being so hard on yourself, I am sure that you looked beautiful!!

Congrats! Amazingly large numbers of brides feel their hair never looks good on their wedding day. You're very lovely and I'm sure your husband didn't mind a bit o frizz;)
