where do I buy?

Vitale's Chelating Neutralizing Shampoo

the links on this site tell you who sales the relaxers and other products but, I can not find a reference to this product.

This was in a discussion about lye vs. no lye. A member recommended this for no lye users. I was interested but can't find the product

SG you look cute in your pix. Do you use the mo' body perm? whats your password?

Thanks Girlie

Go into my Profile and you'll see the web page and password. Also, I don't use the Mo Body. It irritated my scalp too much when I tried it, so I've stuck w/the original. It's very gentle to my scalp, but get's my hair straight like nobody's business!!

Thanks Southerngirl. Unfortunately I don't think they list their ingredients.

I may be going to the BSS soon so I'll check then.

Here you go!

Deionized water, Aloe Vera, Petroleum, Mineral oil, Emulsifying wax, Peoplylene Glycol, Cetyl Alcohol, Sodium Hydroxide, Laneth-15, PEG-60 Lanolin.

Surprisingly, not a lot of ingredients (don't know how it compares to other brands). I'm happy to know that Aloe Vera is the second highest concentrated ingedient - maybe this is why it has never burned me and feels gentle.

Wow you've been so helpful. I was wondering where the sodium was listed and it's also good to know where aloe vera is on the list. This relaxer doesn't have a lot of ingredients.

Also someone mentioned that Vitale has a pre treatment before relaxing to protect the relaxed hair. Have you ever heard anything like that by Vitale?

Sorry to ask so much of you.

I am jumping in on the butt end of this but I am in love with Vitale Life and Body relaxer. I was having a problem with relaxers burning my scalp b/c of the itchiness so my hair would never get straight. So I decided to try Vitale as a last resort and my hair is so straight and silky with no burns. Shoot, it didn't even tingle. I am so excited about it that I went the Sheldeez and ordered the 4lb bucket (which is on sale).

The minute SG showed me the ingredients and I view her relaxing technique I got excited and ordered it right away. Hopefully this is the one to straighten me. I've used vitale for years but it was no lye which dried my hair. I'm looking for that straight but silky look. I'm also looking for something that will last longer.

No problem Jas!

I have never heard of the pre-poo treatment, but the Positive Conditioner is a treat that I've never seen with other relaxers (not that they don't exist). After you apply the relaxer then rinse, you put the conditioner on for 2 or 3 minutes, then rinse, then neutralize. It makes my hair really supple once everything is rinsed out. I have instructions on how I use everything in my album journal.

HTH,

SG

Awesome  That's why I won't use anything else as long as my hair is relaxed. It's the absolute best!!!!!

I forgot about Sheldeez - now I know I can get it there!!

Thanks for the tip,

Do it Jas, and you'll love it. Just be sure to still base your scalp just in case (even though I used to skip this in the past and still didn't burn) and hairline. Of course you know not to scratch/shampoo days before, and go for it!!

Also, be sure to get the other two products to use the system. I really think the Positive Conditioner REALLY makes the difference!!

I've relaxed about 6 times before. I do an ok job. The only thing is that I don't think I was leaving it on long enough on the front sections. Also most of my relaxers revert so quickly but I've never had that problem with Vitale so I'm going back.

Designer Touch has the post perm which is also good...nice results but just didn't last.

I love the relaxers that have a system to it.

I'm going to try this one next time. I LOVE my Phyto, but alas it has been dropped from my very short list of things I can afford, for now:) So, I went back to Revlon which I liked in high school, but it burned like the dickens, and I had been spoiled by the gentleness of Phyto. I made a mental note to check out SG's album and I'm going to get the Vitale life and body next time. I am really happy that Aloe Vera is the second ingredient. I think my scalp will thank me.

SIGH, I sure miss my Phyto, but my hair is really straight for a change.

Vitale is a really good product line and I think it's mostly slept on. I use the vitale mo'body relaxer, and this is the only relaxer that I've used that has consistently gotten my hair straight. If you have coarse, resistant, 4b hair (like I do) then this truly is an excellent relaxer to use. It starts relaxing new growth on contact, but it doesn't dry out my hair or leave it limp. I think I'm going to try the life and body relaxer next time, because the mo'body does irritate my scalp every now and then.
