Basically here is my issue:

I recently had my hair pressed, and the stylist left most parts of my hair permanantly straight, I went for the press because I wanted to have a different look and to loosen up my hair as its prome to tangles and my ends kept snapping despite detangling all the time and wearing protective styles. He also cut my hair from colar length to neck length.

Now would it be ok to texturize my hair? As I find that it enable my hair to be looser and easily styled prevent tangled ends.

Will this be ok even if I have heat damage, the rest of my hair is getting back to normal, but I dont want to add further damage to my hair.

Any advie and tips would be most helpful.

xx

Hey

I don't see why not, i would do a few deep conditioning treatments and a light protein before you texturise though.

I would be careful with the parts that are now permanently straight though as they will be quite weak.

Are you planning on doing it soon?

I have been using heat on my hair FOREVER and when I want to get it back curly I simply deep condition alot and don't straighten it AT ALL for a while. The best thing to use is a conditioner that promotes elasticity like Herbal Essence Totally Twisted. Another good one is Aussie 3 minute DEEEEEP conditioner.....awesome.

So just focus on some DC'ing and protective styling and you will be fine.

I would definitely wait until the hair has bounced back to its original health before applying a texturizer... Like the other ladies suggested, dc, moisture, and protein are the only things you may need to do until it is back healthy again...
